JO MEET INFORMATION

Posted by Arizona Cheetahs on Jun 13 2018 at 05:00PM PDT
Final Updates - There are some important items to discuss about the upcoming Junior Olympic Stae Championship being held June 16 &17 at Mesa Community College. No Friday set up. Gates open at 5:30am.  I will get there and try to secure our spots like at the last meet.  If you can get there to help me please do.  I recommend bringing tarps to keep any dust rain or winds outside of the tents.

1. Weather: If it rains we will compete. If it is sunny and hot we will compete. Unless there is an unsafe condition we will compete. If we get lightening we will have to stop the meet and wait until no lightening is present in the area. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE. After it is safe the meet will continue.  There is a set protocol we must follow from USATF and Mesa Community College. Please come prepared. Stay hydrated - kids, parents & spectators. Most of our medical emergencies in previous seasons have come from spectators.

2. There are areas flagged off. Please DO NOT walk across the flagged off areas for javelin, discus, and hammer. Discus will be out of the East ring due to safety reason.

3. Volunteers are always needed.  Please volunteer if available. There will be a sign up sheet at registration area with assignments.  PLEASE NOTE THAT CLERKING IS OUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY.  The more help there is the faster the meet can be over.

4. The meet starts at 7am so please be on time and ready to compete at 7am if you are one of the first competitors listed in a field event or running event. First call will be 6:30am. Teams and volunteers please be ready in your assigned area to get things going by 6:30am.

5. No parents area allowed on the field. All coaches should be in their coaches box with their credentials or off the field of competition. There are certain sections flagged off for safety. Please do not go across these sectors.
