Free NY Mets Tickets - May 9th at 7:10 PM

    Posted by Michael Polikoff at May 21, 2002 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Thanks to the generous contribution of JP Morgan Chase and their "Baseball is for Kids" program, each and every youngster in the Forest Hills Girls Softball League will receive two free tickets to see the NY Mets play the San Diego Padres in Shea Stadium on Friday, May 9th at 7:10 PM. Coach Michael Polikoff will deliver the tickets to a league official for distribution to each team Manager within the next week or two. Each team Manager should then distribute the tickets to the parents (two tickets per youngster). Parents, please let your manager know in advance if you are unable to attend the game and can't use the tickets. Managers, if you have extra tickets, please send Coach Michael Polikoff an email so he can reallocated tickets to other teams that may require additional tickets. The FHLL only received enough tickets so that each player can receive two tickets, we do not have additional tickets at this time.image
The Forest Hills Little League will be joining the community in the annual Memorial Day Parade sponsored by the American Legion Continental Post 1424. The parade is scheduled to start at 12:00 Noon and begins at the corner of Metropolitan and Ascan Avenues. The parade moves west on Metropolitan Avenue then right on Trotting Course Lane to Remsen Cemetery.

Our League has always been involved in this most important event and at the same time, our youngsters have had a great time marching with the others to the music and drum beat of the participating bands. This year's parade is planned to be just as great as last years. We respectfully request that every Little League player attend in full uniform, siblings are also invited to march.

We are to meet and gather at the Northwest corner of Ascan and Metropolitan Avenues in front of Fox's Funeral Parlor at 11:30am on Sunday, May 25th. The league feels that it is very important that our youngsters be there to share in the memories and in the appreciation of those who have given their lives while helping our country's efforts to provide us with the greatest place in the world in which to live.
