The Santa Cruz Royals fend off the Astros's late push, hold on 5-3

The Astros weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Santa Cruz Royals, and the Astros lost 5-3 to the Santa Cruz Royals after falling behind by four runs in the third inning.

The Astros scored on an error in the sixth inning and a two-run single by Young in the ninth inning. Unfortunately, the Astros weren't able to take the lead back.

Chris Highlander was hot from the plate for the Santa Cruz Royals. Chris Highlander went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.

John Pardo got the win for the Santa Cruz Royals. He allowed three runs over 8 1/3 innings. Pardo struck out one, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Santa Cruz Royals closer Pascual Del Real put away the final two outs to record the save.

The Santa Cruz Royals never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Christopher Cooper and an RBI single by Drew Sarratore.
