Boys Junior Varsity out to a fast start
The boys Junior Varsity team has started the season strong, the Wildcats are currently 7-2. They lost a heartbreaker to Oneonta before the holiday break. The team is looking to continue their winning ways this Tuesday (1/13) as they host the Saints of Seton Catholic Central at 6:00.
This past weekend the boys varsity beat the Warriors of Chenango Valley 72-62. The Wildcats were lead by Junior Ronald Teekasingh 19 points. The Wildcats are currently 6-4 overall. Click on the link above to read the article from the Press & Sun Bulletin that appeared in Saturday's paper.
The Varsity Lady Wildcats came in 2nd in the 3rd Annual Pete Hyde Classic tournament held on December 27 and 28th at Maine Endwell High School. The Lady Wildcats beat Chenango Valley in the semi finals before losing to Liverpool in the championship game of the Michelle Tidick Division. The Division was named after long time Coach Tidick that coached at Johnson City and Vestal for over 30 years. Ms. Tidick is only the fourth women elected to the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame. Coach Tidick's teams won over sixty percent of thier games while she was at the helm. The following players were named to the all touranment team: Varsity- Stacy Fox and Celeste Kadylak JV-Kayla Page Congratulations to Coach Smith and the Lady Wildcats!
The Lady Wildcats finished 2nd in the Third Annual Pete Hyde Holiday Classic on December 28, 2008. The wildcats competed in the Michelle Tidick Division. The divison was named after Former Johnson City and Vestal Coach Michelle Tidick. Coach Tidick guided the lady wildcats to a State Championship in the mid 80's and had an overall winning percentage of .650. Celeste Kadylak and Stacy Fox were selected to the all tournament team.
