2018-2019 Practice Schedule
It is
extremely important to get all wrestlers placed in the appropriate level of
intensity and instruction, to do this the first two weeks of practice will be
an evaluation period, these are not ‘Try-outs’.
All kids will be placed in the best group for that individual. There are many factors that will are used to
determine which group to place kids in, and it can be fluid throughout the
season. After the two week Evaluation

Practice Groups:
-
-
Beginner: Our beginner group is for brand new wrestlers that have not been exposed to wrestling as well as returning wrestlers that still need some work on the foundation concepts needed to be successful in the Intermediate Group. Separating our beginners gives the coaches the ability to work more closely with these wrestlers to give them the time they need to work their way up to the intermediate group. Generally, new 4-7 year olds will remain in this group throughout the season. 8 year olds and up that start the season here will move up to intermediate mid-way through the season as they show they are ready.
-
-
-
Intermediate: The intermediate Group is the core of our club. These wrestlers will work on the foundation principles our coaches believe in, drill techniques, live wrestle and compete on the weekends. These wrestlers will have shown that they have the focus, demeanor and maturity to learn a technique and build on it from practice to practice. Generally, intermediate wrestlers have 1-4 years of wrestling experience and are working toward putting the techniques together. While tournaments are not required, competing regularly cuts the learning curve and teaches what the kids need to do to excel. Generally 2-5th Graders.
-
-
-
Advanced: Advanced wrestlers are kids that have the maturity, work ethic and focus to get better every day. This is a drill intensive class that takes their technique, conditioning and competition to the next level. The expectation of advanced wrestlers is to compete often and attend specific local and travel national level tournaments. Generally 6th-8th Graders, Exceptions for advanced 2nd-5th.
