We will be having a post-season party on Tuesday May 29th at 3:00 at the Montdale Country Club Grove.  The usual cookout food will be served.  Kids are paid for by team funds, but parents need to pay $10 each to Coach Stephens in the library.

Please being in your uniform/warmups/spikes to Coach Stephens in the HS library before the end of the school year.  Failure to do this will result in bills being sent to your house.

The girls team, missing several starting team members, finished second to Elk Lake with 123 points.  Madison Harding, Brooke Estadt, and Taylor Flynn lead the way.  After a false start in the 100H, Harding blasted from the blocks and dominated the 400 to grab her first career league meet gold medal.  She then followed that up with a convincing win in the 300H.  In the last event, she teamed with Brooke Estadt, Karlee Vaverchak, and Katie Retzbach to earn a silver in the 4x4 relay.  Estadt finished off her epic season with a silver in the triple where she broke the school record by a foot with a jump of 32-10.25.  Taylor Flynn, throwing a javelin for the first time, won by 7 feet with a throw of 82-01.  She then set a huge personal record in the long jump with a jump of 15-0.25.  She grabbed the gold medal in that event.  The boys team finished 4th with 91 points.  Although they finished high in almost eveery event AA, they only received one medal.  The 4x4 team of Brandon Donahue, Mike Lowry, Tommy Dastalfo, and Collin Cooper won the silver running a 3:49.  The junior high season is officially over and the coaching staff would like to thank the kids for their hard work.  See you in December for winter conditioning.
The girls team, lead by the dominating performances of Tori Doyle, Cassidy Jenkins, and Sarah Larkin tied Holy Cross with 152 points to win the 2012 Spagna Conference Meet.  Jenkins and Doyle started it off by winning gold and silver in the 100 Hurdles with the gold going to Jenkins.  She broke Doyle's school record in the event with a time of 15.01.  She also beat the conference meet record that stood since 2005.  Later on in the night, Jenkins blew away the field in the 300H with a blistering time of 45.45, another school and conference record.  Sarah Larkin continued her undefeated season in the 100M with a gold medal and also won a bronze in the 200M.  Larkin then teamed with Emily Williams, Cassidy Jenkins, and Ashton Boyarsky to grab a silver in the 4x1 Relay.  Doyle continued her league dominance in the high jump with a gold medal.  She also grabbed a silver in the pole vault.  Ashton Boyarsky finished up the medaling with a bronze in the long jump and triple jump.  The boys team, missing two major point scorers, finished third to Holy Cross and Dunmore.  Mark Arzie set a PR in the mile with a 4:31 while grabbing the only medal on the day, a silver.  The next meet is Tuesday at Scranton Memorial Stadium for the District II Championships.
The Junior High Girls team showed up at the Abington Invite with one purpose...to break as many school records possible.  After the day was through, five records fell and about four more were almost beat.  Madison Harding had a career day.  She started it off with a bronze medal in the 100 hurdles.  She then won the 400 breaking her own school record with a time of 1:02.22.  She followed that up with a win and school record of 49.29 in the 300 hurdles.  She then teamed with Katie Retzbach, Kayla Agentowicz, and Brooke Estadt get a silver medal in the 4x4 with a school record of 4:24.41.  Agentowicz also had a career day with a bronze in the high jump where she set a personal record of 4'8.  She then ran on the bronze medal winning 4x1 team with Estadt, Kristen Hllavaty, and Taylor Flynn.  She saved her best for the event that she loves so much...the 800m.  She took a bronze medal in that event breaking her own school record by 6 seconds with a time of 2:28.72.  Estadt continued her solid season with a bronze in the triple jump.  Elena Tomcykoski, running the 3200 for the first time in her life, shattered a school record with a time of 13:28.01.  The team scored 81 points to finish third in the overall standings and first in the AA standings.  The boys team got strong showings from Collin Cooper, Brandon Donahue, and Paul Forbes.  Donahue and Cooper 2-3ed the 400 with personal record times.  They then teamed with Mike Lowry and Tommy Dastalfo to gain a silver medal in the 4x4 where they ran a 3:49.32.  Paul Forbes had the other medal on the day for the Chiefs in the triple jump where he grabbed a bronze.  The boys team finished 6th overall with 46.50 points and first overall AA.  The next meet is the final meet on Friday at Memorial Stadium.
