The Jets claimed their 2nd Varsity Championship on November 6th, 2010 by defeating the Jaguars 19-14 at Buckeye. It was the 3rd victory over the Jaguars this season and they kept their record perfect at 9-0! Coach Watkins has told his kids all through the season to play it one week at a time and maintain their swagger. It's not overconfidence or cockiness, it's that feeling that if the Jets do their jobs, play hard and stay focused they can play with and beat any other team.
The Jets came off their bye week prepared and played steady all the way through the game finally getting the upperhand 19-14 in the waning minutes of the 4th quarter and after getting the ball back when the Jags score their 2nd touchdown they were able to run out the clock with less than 3 minutes left to claim their 2nd Varsity Championship in 4 tries. Congratulations to the Players, Coaches and Cheerleaders of the Varsity Jets on your 2010 Championship! Go Jets!!
