Byron Allan's time as the Bantam Head Coach came to an end following conflicts between work schedules and player availability.  Byron, a youth pastor at the Alliance Church, finds a fair amount of his work occurring in the early evenings, and his plans to have the football team run practices in the afternoon hours ran into conflicts with the availability of a few of the players to travel to Strathmore to participate.  Byron thought it best for him to step down as the Head Coach as he felt it was more important for the kids to be able participate, he plans on continuing to assist when available.Byron approached the SCFA executive with his decision to step down and also promoted Rob Musselman as his replacement.  Rob had been assisting with the Bantam team starting this fall, after being away from the SCFA for a few years.  Rob had historically been the Head Coach of the Bantam Team in the early 2000s, and lead the team to the North (Tier 1) Provincials Finals in 2002.The SCFA Executive accepted Byron’s decision, and made it clear that his experience was a definite positive and everyone has the desire that he stay involved at some level.

The SCFA Executive welcomed Rob Musselman back onto the sidelines as the Bantam Head Coach.

The SCFA Executive Board would like to introduce:

 2009 SCFA Bantam Head Coach

Byron Allan

Byron, a youth pastor at the Strathmore Alliance Church, hails from Ontario where he excelled in High School Football, primarily playing as a running back and defensive back.  Byron attained a position on the Senior Bowl Team in his final two years of High School.  Following High School, Byron was recruited by the University of Ottawa Gee Gees of the Ontario CIS league, and spent three years participating with the team before a knee injury while mountain biking cut short his CIS participation.  Byron returned to the game coaching at the High School level in Ontario.  Since his arrival in Strathmore, Byron has been coaching with the Strathmore HS Track team.

We all welcome Byron to the Association and wish him well in his opening season!
