Midget Football is starting up soon!!

Tryout Camp registrations are now Open!

The Calgary and Area Midget Football Association is a league playing full contact football, composed of twelve teams of which nine are from Calgary, one from Airdrie, one from Cochrane and this year we are adding one from Red Deer.

The league is open to boys enrolled in school or home schooled as recognized by Education Alberta, attending grades nine, ten or eleven. Player’s nineteenth birthday must not fall on or before March 1 of the year of play.

Registration is through participating teams. Please refer to Boundary Designations per Boundary Map on this website and then reference the contacts as listed on each team’s webpage.

Strathmore Players classification: “Rural Non Designated Player” means a player who is eligible to play for the Association and resides in an area outside the City of Calgary and the area the player resides in does not have a Midget Team in the designated Team District for that particular player. 2015 SCFA Badger Finals

Posted by Carl Seafoot at Nov 7, 2015 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Just a note to state how the teams finished this year.

Senior Badgers finished 4th in the MVFC league and lost out in the first round of playoffs to the League Champs Innisfail Cyclones.  It was a learning year for both Coaches and Players, making the change to 9-Man Football.  With the first year exposure completed, the expectations are high for next year.  From ALL reports everyone had a good experience this year!
Bantam Badgers finished 1st in the South Division of the CFL Bantam League, going undefeated through the regular season.  In the 'A' Playoffs, the team lost in the first round of playoffs to the #2 Seed from the North Division.  A great roster and high participation and dedication from both Players and Coaches made this team rise to the top.  Next year, the talk is of similar numbers which should keep this team in high league standings.  Again everyone reports having a great time!
PeeWee Badgers finished 5th on the CPWFL which placed them in the 'B' Playoffs.  The PW Badgers blew through the playoff opposition and decisively earned the Championship Trophy!  Participation, roster, and dedication again paid off for a SCFA team.  Congrats to the PW PLayers and Coaches for their accomplishment this year!  And Again, everyone had a enjoyable season!
Congrats to the PW Badgers on their Championship, to the Bantam Badgers on their undefeated season, and the Senior Badgers for making the playoffs in their first year!

Bantam awarded win over RV Rage

Posted by Carl Seafoot at Oct 4, 2014 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The SCFA Bantam Team was awarded the win following league investigation into RV Rage players.

The RV Rage had 2 players that fell within the Bantam Age guidelines (13-15), but were in Grade 10 which makes them ineligible. The league has awarded Innisfail and Strathmore wins for their games where these players were used.

The League is investigating further, and the ineligible players has been removed from the RV Rage roster.
