Minors Baseball Program and Spring Training (age 8 & 9 not player majors):

Dates: Spring Training (All Minors Baseball Players) March 19-22 at Boulder Field (Boulder Elementary)

The Minor League Baseball age group for boys and girls is a developmental level program designed to prepare players for game fundamentals and live pitching they will face at 9/10 Majors. For Boulder Arrowhead, the division includes a mixture of 8 and 9 year-olds. League age 8 year olds are automatically placed in Minors, while *9 year olds who are not selected for 9/10 majors division complete the rosters.

The division transitions from “machine pitch” to “player pitch” as the season progresses. This transitional process is used to introduce live pitching in place of the automatic pitching machine. The live pitching portion of the season is the last couple of weeks in June. To prepare the players for this transition, Saturday afternoons are reserved for pitching skill development. Team Managers determine who should participate in pitching practices.

The season schedule starts with a unique four day Spring Training session, before players are assigned to teams, that helps coaches and players get ready for the season. Rosters may be composed of between 11 to 13 players and the league traditionally fields 6 teams.

*Note: Nine year olds not playing 9/10 majors will play Minors 8/9 (machine pitch).
