2012 Attack Fall Ball is Winding Down

Posted by Paul Skuta at Nov 5, 2012 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

The 2012 Fall Ball season is winding down. Teams either have played their final games or will in the coming weeks. We at the Alameda Attack and the Alameda Little League would like to thank all of the 165 participants along with their Parents and volunteer managers, coaches and support staff for making the 2012 season a great success. For those players who will be Little League eligible, we are looking forward to seeing you at evaluations in January for the 2013 Little League season.

 Kindest Regards,

Alameda Attack and Alameda Little League

The Alameda Riptide were victorious in all 5 games in the Fall State Tournament this past weekend in San Jose. As a result, the Alameda Riptide have accumulated enough points to be elevated to the Major Division (Highest division possible), and are currently ranked #1 in Northern California in USSSA.  The United States Specialty Sports Association, USSSA, is a national, multi-sport sanctioning body.

The objective of USSSA Baseball shall be to organize and promote youth and adult baseball, to perpetuate the interest and love of the game. To coordinate the providing of an opportunity for teams to compete in league and tournament competition that leads to state championships and world championships in their respective competitive classifications and age divisions.

The Riptide once again showed that it is all about TEAM. Each game presented different challenges, and each and every member of the Riptide stepped up to contribute in one way or another. As always... timely hitting, savvy base-running, solid defense, and pitching to contact were the recipe for their success.

The Alameda Attack program is represented well by these amazing young men. On behalf of my coaches, Ken Cala & Kenny Arnerich Jr., I can say that it is an honor to coach a team that thinks about the common goal first, and individual goals second. Regardless of the future rankings, rest assured that the Attack program, Alameda Little League, and the City of Alameda can take pride in their part of making these young men great on and off of the field. This group is something special. It is an honor and a privilege to manage them.

Sincerely,

Greg Bridges
