J.C. Maroon couldn't recover from an 4th quarter 12 point defict. Once again our offense didn't get rolling till the 4th quarter scoring 17 but coming up short 40-34 vs Whitney Point on the road.Our own offense was our worse defense missing some easy lay ups and some poor passing resulting into easy points for WHITNEY POINT.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED: Corey C. scoring 20 points and some great sharp shooting from Shane M. scoring 8 points.
This game concludes 7 games played in 6 days good job team and thank you parents.
We played 5 games in this years Holiday Classic losing all 5. The kids really picked up their game not backing down to any of the teams they played.They showed great effort playing hard to the final buzzer every game.
Highlights of the tournament included a 34-31 loss to a very good Vestal team that beat us earlier in the week by 23. We were down 20 at one point then rallied outscoring Vestal 20-6 in the second half! We also played well against Vestal in the 3rd place game keeping the game close till the final minutes.Only one team scored 40 + points in the tournament VS us and we were only outscored by 4 pts. 74-70 in the second half of all games combined.
This was a great tournament to watch with several great team efforts! Congradulations to Athens and M-E for the first place finishes.
J.C. MAROON won 40-24 on the road at M.E. J.C. played great team defence once again forcing several turnovers and steals turning them into points. M.E was held to 10 second half points.
