6:00p - 7:15p  Monday* & Thursday nights

* Labor day & Columbus day sessions will be held on Tuesday.

• JV wrestlers receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals

Varsity Prelims to begin (2 rounds)

• Double elimination

The youth squad followed up a historic High School Varsity weekend (8 high school section champs) with a impressive showing of their own.  We sent 15 wrestlers to the section 9 qualifiers today and came home with 9 Section champions, 1 runner-up, 2 third place, 1 fourth place & 2 6th place qualifiers.  Congrats guys... great performance by all.

2011 NY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION 

2011 SECTION 9 QUALIFIER

LOCATION:     Monroe Woodbury HS.  155 Dunderberg Rd, Central Valley 

 WEIGN-INS:  Saturday, February 12  from 12pm – 2pm in MWHS Rm. 130 Skin check bring doc note if you have any ongoing or questionable issues. Random weight checks on Sunday; wrestlers must be within 3% of Saturday’s weight. 

TOURNAMENT:  Sunday Feb 13^th.  Check-in 7:00 – 8:00a.  Wrestling begins approx 8:30a. Top 6 in each class qualify for NY State tournament. 

REGISTRATION:    DEADLINE FEB 11 @ midnight.  Register on-line @

 $27.00 per wrestler, payable @ weigh-in.  USA card required – bring print-out of card. 

IMPORTANT:   No weight allowance.  The weight class you choose @ the qualifier is the class you must wrestle @ States in March.         

NY-USAW KIDS STATE FOLKSTYLE CHAMPIONSHIP 

LOCATION:    Bayshore High School, Bayshore (Long Island) NY 

DATE:  March 4 – 6 , 2011 – individual division times and weigh-in date/times have not yet been released.

NOTE:   Some age divisions require a Friday night weigh-in, others allow a morning weigh-in for afternoon matches.  Until a flyer is posted, I would suggest waiting to reserve a room, or double checking hotel cancellation policy (unless you know you need to be there two nights (eg, two kids in different divisions).

Congrats to the Warwick HS Squad for an outstanding finish @ the Eastern states this past weekend.   The team placed 6th out of 90 teams at the tournament with Warwick Youth alumni Shane Connolly and Mitch Wightman leading the way with 2nd place finishes.
