The Palos Stars' FREE Football Training Camp will start on Thursday, July 6, 2017 and runs through July 20, 2017 this year.  Camp takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8pm.  Everyone is welcome - new players, returning players and families that may be undecided about joining a football program.  Join us for all Tuesdays and Thursdays or only when you can.  This is an opportunity to have your child begin conditioning, learning new skills and refining old skils.

Participants can meet many of the coaches, plus start to meet some of the other players on the teams.

For camp, participants should wear shorts or sweat pants, molded spikes and please bring a good supply of water.  There will be no football equipment worn during July. 

Our free football training camp takes place at our home field located at 114th Place and Southwest Highway in Palos Hills (right across from the Metra train station).

Would you like to be a part of the Palos Stars Football & Cheerleading Family?  If so, please attend one of our 2016 REGISTRATION DATES - 1/29/16 or 25/16 from 10am-2pm.  If unable to attend, just print off the 2016 Registration Form (2 pages) found on the website and either mail form and proper deposit amount to the address listed below.  Our field is located directly across from the Palos Heights Metra train station on Southwest Highway.

The only payment required at this time with the registration form is a $50 non-refundable fee per child.  The balance of the fees will be paid either on an assigned day during football equipment pickup week or on the first day of practice for cheerleaders.  Equipment/uniforms for cheerleaders are passed out a couple weeks into the season.

Cheerleaders must be between the ages of 7 and 14, however the participant can not be in high school.  Cheerleaders will learn a variety of different cheers and skills.  The Palos Stars Cheerleaders plan to participate in cheerleading competitions again this year.

At this time Participation fees are $185 per child.  Each Stars family must sell $125 in raffle tickets. This is a mandatory fundraiser.  We ask each family to purchase the raffle tickets on the first day of cheerleading practice.  The family then has until near the end of August 2016 to turn the tickets in.  All money received from selling raffle tickets is kept by each family.

Only additional expense is new cheer shoes which are around $20 and a hair bow around $10.

Practice is Monday thru Friday from 6 - 8pm starting 8/1/16 until school starts.  Then practice will be Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 6 - 8pm. All practices during the regular season are at our home field.  If going to competition, then after the regular season is over practice may be at an indoor location nearby.

Generally, there are 3 maybe 4 different cheerleading squads for the season.  This depends on the number of participants registered.  The squads are usually based on age. 

Football games are usually played on Saturday, but there can be some Sunday games based on the teams we might be playing.  Half of our football games will be at home and the others will be away - so that does involve some traveling to surrounding communities.

The Southwest Midget Football League requires that we have a copy of a birth certificate on file for every football player.  We ask that all NEW players bring a copy of your birth certificate to your Equipment Pick-Up Night.  For RETURNING players we should have a copy of your birth certificate on file from last year. 


The Palos Stars' require that each player has a sports physical every year.  We need to make sure everyone is fit to play.  Deadline for all sports physicals will be Wednesday, August 10th.  


If you have a physical for the upcoming school year remember to make a copy and submit to us.



It will soon be time to start receiving your football equipment.

Beginning Monday, July 25th thru Thursday, July 28th from 6-8PM all Palos Stars' football players must come to the Stars field to be fitted for equipment. We require that a parent or an adult accompany their child in order for equipment to be issued.  In order for this process to work most efficiently players please follow the schedule below:

REMINDER - No equipment can be issued until all fees are paid. Registration fee is a total of $185 if registered prior to 2/29/16 and $200 if registered on or after 3/1/16.  Raffle tickets totaling $125 will be issued and paid for at equipment pickup. You will have a number of weeks to sell these raffle tickets and then ALL money collected will be yours to keep. The last item will be a separate check for the work commitment deposit of $75. This will be returned to you at the end of the season as long as you have completed your 4 hours of volunteer work and all equipment is returned

It is important that players come on the appropriate day listed above for equipment purposes.  However, if for some reason you can not make your day, please come toward the end of another night.  If you will not be available during equipment pickup week all fees and equipment will be handled on Monday, 8/1/2016.

Game specific equipment (pants, belt, jersey) will not be issued until the week of our first game.

Please be advised that for practice and home games families should only park their car in the front parking lot or the back parking lot(located behind the practice field).  There is a gate in the back lot which takes you thru the practice field so as not to walk all the way around.  There should be NO parking on the road along the side of the field.  This is an actual street and entry way into the business next door.  The Police do show up, especially on game days, to patrol this area and ticket as necessary or have cars towed.  

There must also be ample room at the front entrance for any emergency vehicle to make its way down the drive. Also, please be respectful of the Handicap Parking spaces.  We do have a number of families that DO need these spots when they arrive at the field.

Please share this with family and friends that may be coming to watch your son or daughter on game day.
