3 SHOCKWAVE TEAMS FINISH ON TOP

ShockWave won the Championship of the 13u, 16u & 18u Brackets in the USSSA Jus' Sports Challenge held Oct 31 - Nov 1 in Charleston. 

  • The 13u team led by Chris Phillips won the 13u Championship held at Gahagan Sports Complex,  
  • The 15u Showcase team led by Jeff Ridgway won the 16u Championship held at Pinewood Prep
  • The 17u American team led by Jarod Matthews won the 18u Championship held at Goose Creek HS.

Congratulations to ALL TEAMS for being ranked in the Top 10 in SC in their classification!!!

MLB PHR CHAMPIONS

CONGRATULATIONS to the CHAMPIONS in the 

MLB PITCH, HIT & RUN COMPETITION 

 

SHOCKWAVE BASEBALL was proud to host a free MLB PHR competition for area youth at Gahagan Sports Complex on Sat May 2nd. Pitch, Hit & Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball.  This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group from this Competition (listed below) will now advance to the Sectional Level of Compeition located in Hanahan on Sat, May 9th.  

The winners at the SECTIONAL Competition will advance to the TEAM Championships at a Major League ballpark.  The winners of the TEAM Championships will advance to the National Finals at the 2009 MLB All Star game in St Louis.

SECTIONAL INFORMATION POSTED BELOW FOR CHAMPIONS LISTED BELOW.  THE SECTIONAL IN HANAHAN THIS SATURDAY (Registration 9-10am at Hanahan Sports Complex on Railroad Rd)

                                             Saturday, May 9, 2009                                            Registration – 9:00 a.m. Competition – 10:00 a.m.                                             Hanahan Sports Complex                                            3000 Railroad Ave - Fields 6 & 7                                           

Reminders:

 -         Arrive to Sectional site early for registration-         All participants must provide a copy of a valid birth certificate or baptismal record for age verification-         Parent or guardian must sign a registration/waiver form-         All participants will compete in all three elements of the competition with all scores starting at zero-         No metal spikes

 

AREA YOUTH TO COMPETE IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCH, HIT & RUN COMPETITION.

Open to Girls and Boys

 Ages 7-14*

*Age group determined by age of participant as of July17, 2009

Eligible if Born between July 18, 1994 & July 18, 2000

PARTICIPANTS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN ONE LOCAL EVENT. 

SHOCKWAVE BASEBALL will host a free MLB PHR competition for area youth. Competitors are divided into four age divisions:  7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2009 MLB All Star game in St Louis.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Compeition which will convienently located in Hanahan on Sat, May 9th.

Directions: From I-26, take the Hwy. 17A Summerville Exit (#199). Go approx. 3/4 mile, turn left onto Berlin G. Myers Parkway. Follow the parkway to Gahagan Road.
