Posted by Aubrey Heflin at Apr 9, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Summerville ShockWave 12U & 13U Tournament Baseball Program has a spot on each team for a reserve player for the Spring/Summer season that would have the option of joining the team on a full-time basis in August. Teams will primarily play in Charleston area tournaments with some travel. 12U players cannot turn 13 before May 1, 2007 13U players cannot turn 14 before May 1, 2007 For additional info or questions e-mail us a goshockwave@bellsouth.net MORE DETAILS: SCHEDULE: Our Spring/ Summer program will not intefere with school baseball and all existing players plan to play Spring rec ball. The 12U team will play their 1st tournaments in late March. The 13U players will be playing for their School teams in March so their 1st tournament will be April 21. Once rec ball begins, we plan to play one tournament per month and then every other week after All Stars (Aug Nov). Both teams will play in the same tournaments whenever possible. Our first choice is to play the Charleston area tournaments to minimize travel. We will make occasional overnight road trips to tournaments within 2 hours when there are no local tournaments available. The kids love the road trips! FINANCES: We operate as a registered non-profit organization so every dollar collected is spent and accounted for and open for anyone to see. Sponsors typically offset most of the cost involved. Last Fall the families had to pay for 2 of the 6 tournaments we played in (we had over $3,000 in sponsors). But not counting on sponsors, here are the anticipated costs: - Initial cost for new players will be ~$175 to cover (Green Vest, T-shirt, White Jersey, 2 pants, Fitted hat, belt, socks, USSSA Registration, insurance). - Cost per tournament will be ~$30 per player (Tournament Cost/ # of players) For any other questions, send it in an e-mail to goshockwave@bellsouth.net
