Inter League Games Re-scheduled

The remainder of the inter league schedule is as follows: Saturday, July 15 -- Truro at Fredericton, 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15 -- Truro at Saint John, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 16 -- Fredericton at Sackville, 1 p.m. Saturday, July 22 -- Kentville at Chatham, 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22 -- Kentville at Moncton, 7 p.m. Sunday, July 23 -- Fredericton at Dartmouth, 2 p.m. Sunday, July 23 -- Fredericton at Kentville, 7:30 p.m. So that these interleague games can be played as soon as possible, the following NSSBL games have been postponed. Saturday, July 15 -- Truro at Halifax Sunday, July 23 -- Sackville at Kentville

Haverstock handcuffs Sackville

Mark Haverstock of Halifax became the first pitcher in 5 years to throw a no hitter as Halifax beat Sackville 11-0. Haverstock struck out seven and walked two to earn the victory. Craig Higgins of the Truro Bearcats had the last no-hitter prior to tonight, a 10-1 win over the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry on Aug. 2, 2001. Postponed interleague games

The following games will not be played this weekend, as the Fredericton Royals will not be able to field a team.

Saturday, July 1 -- Fredericton at Sackville, 2 p.m.
Saturday, July 1 -- Fredericton at Kentville, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 2 -- Fredericton at Dartmouth, 2 p.m.

The remainder of this weekend's interleague schedule will proceed as planned, weather permitting. These games were to have been played June 10-11, but were postponed because of rain.

Saturday, July 1 -- Moncton at Halifax, 2 p.m.
Saturday, July 1 -- Saint John at Kentville, 2 p.m.
Saturday. July 1 -- Chatham at Sydney, 4 p.m.
Saturday, July 1 -- Moncton at Truro, 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 1 -- Saint John at Dartmouth, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 2 -- Chatham at Halifax, noon
Sunday, July 2 -- Moncton at Sydney, 1 p.m.
Sunday, July 2 -- Saint John at Sackville, 2 p.m.
Sunday, July 2 -- Chatham at Truro, 5 p.m.

Last weekend, New Brunswick teams won five of eight games against Nova Scotia to kick off the inaugural season of interleague play. Both leagues have committed to a two-year agreement to promote interleague play.
