San Jose Ninja Practices

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Feb 23, 2009 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

We are preparing for one of the toughest Asian Tournaments in the Ninja's, we will really need to prepare for this tournament as the best teams in Northern California usually play the best in Southern California. We have heard that the FOR Victory and Pasadena Gameboys (with 3 non-roster players) will be representing the South teams.

Our times and locations have not been confirmed for practice but we wanted everyone to have our schedule in advance to plan ahead for any conflicts.

We have decided to practice on Friday and Sunday evenings to minimize conflicts with other sports, siblings schedules, etc. The Friday's will be 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3. The Sunday's will be  3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29, 4/5. During this time we will not have Jason's clinic so we can stay focused on our team. There could be one last practice before we leave for San Jose but that could change depending on the progress we make during the next few weeks.

The practices will be in the Buena Park area to help the commute for Austin on Friday's and to be a central location for everyone. We will confirm the locations and times later this week but the days are confirmed.

Let us know if you have any questions, thanks.

SEYO Season Finished

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Feb 21, 2009 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

Congratulations to all the boy's for a fine SEYO season this year. They finished with a record of 7-3 with two losses to OCO. Two of those loses were with Kendall playing and we came up short by 2 and 5 points. Our team is improving against them just like the Warriors and that's the most important thing.

We would also like to give Coach Scotty a HUGE "THANK YOU" for stepping into the "Head Coach" position for this years SEYO season, it was good for the boy's to hear a different voice and seeing a new approach and coaching technique then before. We all appreciate it very much, thank you again Scotty !!

So we don't lose our 9:00 p.m. slot, there will be a Jason Clinic this Friday 2/27 at 9:00 p.m. with KB running the show. There will be no practice this upcoming weekend 2/28 and 3/1 to give our parents a little break before we gear up for preparation to the Ninja's Tournament.

We will then start our training for Ninja's. Our practices will be increased to twice per week, currently we do not have any gyms reserved. We will look into Sunday night and possibly Friday night, if we practice on Friday night we might not keep Jason's clinic. There is also a chance of getting VFW time but that would be on Saturday's and they have been losing gyms each week. We will need to ask for additional help from some of the dads to help Coach Jon, Scott and myself. We will be working on a few things that are going to be critical for us up north. We will only have five short weeks to practice our full court press, press break, half court trap, free throws, help defense, boxing out, etc.

Our practices will be two hours in length so that we can get all the necessary items covered each night, please let us know if these days will not work for your schedule.

Thanks again,

Mark

NO PRACTICE THIS WEEK

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Feb 18, 2009 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

Due to the CIF Playoff schedule all gyms that are currently used for practice (Marina, Valencia, University and Katella) are not available for this Saturday. VFW has decided to cancel all practices for their teams this week. So we will not have practice for this week as well.

Remember that we will have KB instead of Jason on Friday night at 9:00 p.m., this is optional at a cost of $20 per player.

Our last SEYO game will be this Sunday 2/22 at 6:00 p.m. against OCO at Western HS.

Thanks,

Mark

SEYO Season Ending

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Feb 15, 2009 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

Our boys played really well yesterday, all of them scored and they came out with a 58-41 win over OCO last night. We finished second in the league on placement day so we will play at 6:00 p.m. next Sunday against OCO for the final game of the year.

Since Jason is in Japan for the next two weeks we will have KB running his defensive drills on Friday nights at 9:00 p.m., remember this is optional for $20 per player.

We will have practice this Saturday on 2/21 but we will have to wait for the schedule to come out from VFW, it might be late as the rumor is they have no gyms this Saturday.

Once the season is over we will begin practicing for the San Jose Ninja Tournament. Since this is one of the toughest tournaments we will probably practice twice a week and three times on certain weeks if we can find a gym. We have plenty to work on in order for us to compete at the next level.

Our practice fees for January 2009 will be $22 for each player, $195 divided by 9 players.

Saturday 1/10 - $55

Saturday 1/17 - $70

Saturday 1/24 - $70

If you haven't paid for the VFW Tournament please include it with this payment.

Thanks again and stay dry this week,

Mark
