San Jose Ninja Results

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Apr 12, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

We hope everyone had a safe trip home either last night or today.

We had a great tournament this past weekend with the San Jose Ninja's. Our boys played really hard and executed what we had practiced for this past month. In our first game against the BAAS Black Dragons our zone offenses worked well as did our trap defenses. The result was a 20 point victory in the first round. In the second round we faced a very tall FYBC Titan team from Sacramento and utilized our speed and endurance with a 27 point victory putting us in the Championship Game on Sunday. On Sunday we faced the Pasadena Bruins and we practiced for them with the anticipation that we might meet on Sunday but we fell short in a 39-41 loss taking second place in our first Ninja Tournament. As coaches we apologize for this loss to you parents and to our boys as close games are won and loss due to coaching and not by the actions of the players.

The boys were able to bond together this past weekend and had a great time at the park. They also had so much fun at the 6th grade social on Saturday night that we had to pull them out at 10:30 p.m. These travel tournaments are just as important as all the practices and games as what we do together socially will give them balance in life.

We want to send out a HUGE thank you to Tracie again for helping with all the travel arrangements for those who flew up to San Jose and for working early on with the Embassy Suites for a great Hotel for all of us to stay. We also appreciated you getting the tickets for Great America in advance, printing out the directions to the gym and coordinating the El Torito dinner on Friday night. Coach Scotty, thank you so much for buying all the boys Jamba Juice on Saturday between games and hanging out with all of them for the weekend. Pom, thank you for washing all the jersey's on Saturday night so we could look good for our Championship Game on Sunday.

There will be no practice this weekend although we might receive free practice time from VFW on Saturday. If you are interested in shooting, etc. please let me know. We also have our optional KB Defensive Clinic tomorrow (Tuesday 4/14) at Katella HS from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at a cost of $20 per player, please bring a ball and water if you participate.

Our next official practice will be on the weekend of 4/24-4/26, we have not made arrangements for gyms yet but will keep you posted as we get closer. This will be practices for the Tigers Tournament on 5/23, 5/24 and 5/25.

Parents, thank you again for being so supportive in making this team the best 6th grade team around. We could not do it without your support.

Have a great week,

Mark

Final Ninja Practice Schedule

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Mar 29, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

Don't forget that there is an optional KB Clinic tomorrow night at Katella HS from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at a cost of $20

Here is the schedule for the last week of practices for the Ninja Tournament. This Friday 4/3/09 we will be at the Buena Park Boys Club. We have the gym from 6:00 p.m. for those that would like extra practice on free throws, etc. I will be there to help anyone who shows up. We will start practice at 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Sunday's practice 4/5/09 will be held at the SCCCC in Irvine, the actual time has not been verified but it will start around 6:00 p.m., we will update this site by tomorrow with the exact times.

Wednesday 4/8/09 we will have our final practice at Katella HS, the time is also being confirmed and will be updated tomorrow night as well. It should start around the 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. time.

The boys have come along way since we started training for the Ninja's. We are very proud of how much effort they are putting out each and every practice.  We are hoping for a victory against BAAS Dragons Black, we would then play the Florin Sacramento team. With a victory over them it should put us in the Championship game against the Pasadena Bruins. That would be a great game with Toyama and Shinmoto from the Gameboys, Christian Lee from the Mustangs and Travis Fukumoto from the Dragons.

Let me know if you are not going to make any of the practices as we need to have 10 players to practice effectively.

Thanks again,

Mark

Weekly Update

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Mar 20, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

Here is the link for the San Jose Ninja Tournament

 http://sjninja.com/?page_id=54

Remember, we have practice on Sunday 3/22 at the Buena Park Junior High Gym from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

We also have room for one more player if interested in the Tuesday night special clinic being run by KB and myself. This clinic was limited to 16 players who mostly are in the 6th grade. We are concentrating mostly on defense to help the overall game of the players. The cost is $40 for the last two weeks 3/24 and 3/31. Let me know this Sunday if you are interested.

Please let me know early if you cannot make it on Sunday so we can find a replacement to keep 10 players on the floor.

Thank you again,

Mark
