SASF Tournament

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Mar 6, 2008 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Hi Force Parents,

Our schedule is now official for the SASF Tournament in Sacramento later this month. We still received the number 3 seed for our bracket (Boys D Gold) and will be playing our first game at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday against the S.F. Associates. We will then have either a game at 12:30 or 1:40 depending if we win or lose. We will try to add the schedule on the web soon.

After reading the official rules for the tournament it appears that our division plays with the womens basketball so we need to switch back for this tournament.

Remember, Jason's tonight at 9:00 p.m. (optional) and VFW Awards night tomorrow night at OCBC at 6:00 p.m., Troy's birthday party after Awards Banquet at the Ishino's, Practice on Sunday at Mariners in Costa Mesa at 6:00 p.m.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Mark

This weeks schedule

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Mar 2, 2008 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

This is a very busy weekend for our team so we are going to try to see if we can make it work.  We will be having the optional Jason clinic on Friday night where we have been putting the emphasis on boxing out, rebounding and pure defense.

Saturday we have our VFW End of Season Party at OCBC starting at 6:00 p.m., the boys will then be moving to the Ishino home for Troy's 11th birthday celebration.

Since most of the players will be busy on Saturday we will move our practice to Sunday night 3/9/08 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Mariners Christian in Costa Mesa, for those who can stay until 8:00 p.m. we will work on individual one on one instruction, not mandatory for the last 30 minutes.

We will continue to work on both the man to man and zone offenses, our inbound plays and our press break this weekend. We also need to continue to shoot free throws with the larger men's ball to get us ready for the tournament.

If you cannot make practice please let us know as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Mark

Practice Schedule for this Weekend

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Feb 24, 2008 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

With all the different schedules of Baseball, NJB, etc. we thought the best time to practice this weekend would be Saturday afternoon 3/1 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the SCCCC in Irvine. We will be using court time from WPC as I will be holding clinics for the WPC Pee Wee and WPC Midget divisions earlier in the day in exchange for the gym time this weekend.

We are supposed to have gym time from VFW this Saturday but we can't wait until Thursday to figure out our weekend plans.

We still are scheduled for Jason's optional workout this Friday at 9:00 p.m. in H.B., We still have not finalized the new price yet with him. We will keep you posted on this progress.

Please let us know if you cannot make practice this Saturday.

Thanks,

Mark

FOR Tournament

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Feb 23, 2008 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Parents,

We wanted all the parents to know that yesterday we officially withdrew from this years FOR Tournament. We have had several discussions with both the Tournament Committee and Executive Committee for not accepting our SEYO roster that they had previously approved in October last year.

This should help the Treinen's, Ishino's, Morinishi's and Lee's as they can now concentrate on their younger siblings schedule for this weekend.

On a different note we have accepted the bid to play Gold in the West Los Angeles (WLA) Tournament on 4/19 and 4/20. We will need all our players and parents to sign waivers at our next practice this week.

With everyone's schedule next weekend it looks like the best time to have practice will be late Saturday 3/1 afternoon. We will let everyone know once we have secured gym time.

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks.

Tournament Update

Posted by Jon Morinishi at Feb 19, 2008 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear Force Families,

We wanted to update you on our 2008 Tournament Schedule. As you have noticed we have passed on participating in the Megalopolis Tournament on 3/1, 3/2. The two reasons are we wanted a week to rest after the SEYO season and we would lose two weeks practicing with a men's ball for the Sacramento Tournament.

Our first official tournament this year will be the SASF Tournament in Sacramento on 3/29, 3/30 playing up in the sixth grade division.

We have been invited to the WLA Tournament on 4/18, 4/19, 4/20 which is three weeks after the SASF Tournament. In accepting this bid to play we are thinking of backing out of the FOR Tournament on 5/3, 5/4 because it is too close to the Tigers Tournament on 5/28, 5/29, 5/30 and the FOR Tournament committee has changed it's mind on our roster that was approved last October 2007.

This gives everyone a 3 month outlook, we are definitely interested in the Hollywood Dodgers Tournament in August and we will discuss the other tournaments in June and July to see if we would be interested in playing.

The rooms at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas are now at $63 for Thursday and Sunday and $108 for Saturday and Sunday with a AAA discount depending on how many days everyone plans on staying.

We will keep everyone posted on new tournament information as we receive it from the various tournament committees.

Have a great rest of the week,

Mark
