Welcome to the 2006 Spikes 10U Webpage!
The Southern Indiana Spikes 10U finished their 2006 season in style.  They brought home 3rd place trophies from the BPA World Series held at Jack Fisher Park in Owensboro, KY July 27-30.  After dropping into the losers bracket early, this team made an amazing run all the way back to the semi-finals by winning six straight games.  These boys never gave up and continued to battle until the final out was made, playing three straight games on Sunday in the 100+ degree heat.  The 2006 BPA World Series fielded 18 teams representing Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan & Indiana in the 10U age division.image
What a great weekend of baseball we had! On July 10th the 10U Spikes finished tournament play undefeated with a record of 4-0 to bring home the crown as the BPA Kentucky State Champs!! These boys came to the field ready to play this weekend and showed what they are capable of. Of course they did have a little extra incentive since Wilky promised to shave his head if they won it all. Hmmm, where is Wilky by the way? Keep an eye out for him and his new look!! Way to go Spikes!! See the 10U Pictures folder for a shot of a few teammates offering to assist Wilk with "The Haircut". Drew Grass with scissors - now that is scary!!!imageimage
On May 28 the Spikes brought home 2nd Place trophies from the Memorial Weekend Bash held in Owensboro, KY.  This was another great tournament and the boys played very well.  They stayed in the winner's bracket all the way through to Sunday afternoon where they fell 10-9 to the Evansville Spikes in a very hard fought game.  We ended up meeting the Evansville Spikes again in the championship game where we ended up on the short end of a 4-3 ballgame.  It was another exciting weekend of baseball and coming home 2nd in a field of 16 teams is something all of these boys should be very proud of.image
On May 14 the Spikes brought home another 2nd place finish from Cincinnati, OH.
