If you missed the bus and the meet today, Coach Gordon will provide you with an Alarm Clock at Monday's practice. We need a full TEAM every meet. Inches and tenths make a Champion. If you did not score a point, do not worry. It is very difficult to score a point in Track and Field, only 6 athletes in each event can score on a given day. Every meet, focus on running, jumping, or throwing your Personal Best, and as you set new "PRs", points will naturely take care of themselves. The Mustangs took a major step towards bringing Northside College Prep its first Freshman/Sophomore City Track and Field Championship Title today. Keep it up! In 2005, Justin Harbor ran a personal best 4:12 in the Mile, and ran a 9:11 Two Mile at Nike Outdoor Nationals. In the Fall, Justin Harbor lead his high school Cross Country Team to the Florida State Title. After the 2005 Florida High School State Cross Country Championship, Justin qualified for Footlocker Nationals for the second consecutive year with a 15:01 5k time. After Nationals, a reporter asked Justin about what it takes to get to Nationals, and Justin responded, "Dude, work hard. There is nothing you can take to get here. Nobody you can know to get here. It's legit. You go to a regional, finish in the top, and you come. The biggest thing for me is my parents. They have been really good role models." After Footlocker Nationals, Justin Harbor signed a partial scholarship to run for the University of Oregon. A few months later, his Father, Randy Harbor, passed away after a heart attack. A memorial scholarship account/fund has been set up for Justin Harbor and his family in his late father's name. The account will benefit both Justin and his younger brother Zack. It is designed to offset any expenses incurred while attending college. Justin did not receive a full scholarship. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
