Sophomore Antione Davis anchors Marist to an impressive finish in the Junior Varsity 4x200m Relay!
Marist Sophomore Tyler Thomas explodes out of the blocks and Senior Ben Ehigie receives the first exchange in the Junior Varsity 4x200m Relay
The Marist Junior Varsity 4x200m Relay had a BIG day at the Rockford Auburn Invitational. Marist ran an impressive time of 1:46.41, and posted victories over: Metea Valley (1:47.13), Deerfield (1:47.65), Rockford Christian (1:49.43), Proviso East (1:50.17), Elgin (1:53.81), Rockford Lutheran (1:55.86), and Hampshire (2:05.16).
On the first leg of the relay, Marist Sophomore Tyler Thomas ran an outstanding 26.03 200m split, and made a good exchange to Ben Ehigie. Marist Senior Ben Ehigie ran a 27.53 200m split, and made a nice exchange to Josiah Harris. Marist Freshman Josiah Harris ran a 26.70 200m split, and made a perfect exchange to Antione Davis, Jr. Marist Sophomore Antione Davis passed several Teams, and ran an impressive 25.52 200m split to anchor Marist past Metea Valley, among others, at the finish line with an official time of 1:46.41.
Marist Sophomore Amari Watkins, Senior Alton Brooks, Sophomore Kivonte Houston, and Sophomore Keyon Turner finish 12th in Varsity 4x200m Relay
In the Varsity 4x200m Relay, Marist finished in 12th place with an official time of 1:44.37, and posted victories over: 13.Grayslake Central (1:44.45), 14. Winnebago (1:45.82), 15. Elgin (1:50.71), 16. Hampshire (1:51.50), and 17. Rockford Lutheran (1:52.82).
Marist Sophomore Amari Watkins ran an impressive 25.90 200m split on the first leg of the relay. Marist Senior Alton Brooks ran an outstanding 26.18 200m split on the second leg of the relay. Marist Sophomore Kivonte Houston ran an impressive 25.55 200m split on the third leg of the relay, and made a nice exchange to Keyon Turner. Marist Sophomore Keyon Turner anchored the RedHawks to 12th place with an outstanding 26.34 200m split for an official time of 1:44.37. Turner also became a member of the Marist 20 Pull-up club in the weight room by doing 22 consecutive pull-ups.

In the Varsity 1600m, Libertyville Senior Alex Tam won it with an official time of 4:28.74. Grayslake Central Senior Eli Minsky finished in second place with an official time of 4:35.88. Rockford Christian Junior Brent Brunner finished in third place with an official time of 4:41.54. Metea Valley Senior Charles Schafer finished in fourth place with an official time of 4:43.55. Rockford Auburn Sophomore Jonah Garcia finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 4:44.67.
Marist Junior Lucas Pennix ran 400m splits of 70, 79 (2:29 800m), 84 (3:53 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 82.73 for an official time of 5:15.73.
Marist Sophomore Peter Derdzinski ran 400m splits of 71, 89 (2:40 800m), 94 (4:14 1200m), and then ran the final 400m in a NEGATIVE split of 93.74 for an official time of 5:47.74.
