CHICAGO MARIST TRACK AND FIELD

On the final leg of the 4x800m Relay, Marist Junior Sean Rein ran the first 400m in a split of 77.00 seconds, and then ran the final 400m in 92.00 seconds to outkick Rockford Auburn Sophomore Josh Woloszyn to the finish line with an impressive kick to secure 12th place with an 800m split of 2:49.00, and a 4x800m Relay time of 10:11.84.

Rockford Auburn finished in 13th place with an official time of 10:14.77. Hampshire finished in 14th place with an official time of 10:26.48. St.Laurence finished in 15th place with an official time of 11:02.02.

In the Varsity 3200m run, Marist Captain Thomas Leonard ran 200m splits of 36, 39 (75 seconds for 400m), 40, 41 (2:36 for 800m), 38, 40 (3:54 for 1200m), 41, 39 (5:14 for 1600m), 39, 40 (6:33 for 2000m), 42, 40 (7:55 for 2400m), 39, 39 (9:13 for 2800m), and then ran a negative split of 34 seconds, and then ran the final 200m in 37.94 seconds to WIN the 3200m run with an official time of 10:24.94.

Thomas Leonard ran the first 1600m in 5:14.00, and then ran the final 1600m in a NEGATIVE split of 5:10.94 for an outstanding time of 10:24.94. Thomas Leonard was awarded a FIRST place medal in a nice ceremony following the Jerry Lowe Invitational.

Deerfield Junior Bradley Brodsky finished in second place with an official time of 10:29.01. Deerfield Freshman Josh Puyer finished in third place with an official time of 10:36.39. Hampshire Senior Angel Yescas finished in fourth place with an official time of 10:39.63. South Elgin Sophomore Anthony Rios finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 10:54.36.

In the Varsity 3200m run, Marist Sophomore Luke Hortsman ran 200m splits of 37, 40 (77 400m), 43, 44 (2:44 800m), 44, 48 (4:16 1200m), 46, 44 (5:46 1600m), 48, 47 (7:21 2000m), 48, 45 (8:54 2400m), 49, 51 (10:34 2800m), and then ran a NEGATIVE 200m split of 46 seconds, and then ran the final 200m in 48.30 seconds to outkick Elgin Junior Giovanni Cisneros (12:21.63, 17th place) with an official time of 12:08.30.

Rockford Auburn Freshman Aron Tatman finished in 18th place with an official time of 12:44.37. Rockford Auburn Sophomore Ryan Sweeney finished in 19th place with an official time of 12:46.61. Machesney Park Sophomore Brady Moracco finished in 20th place with an official time of 13:07.46. Machesney Park Freshman Nick Greenland finished in 21st place with an official time of 13:13.78.

 In the Varsity 60m High Hurdles, Marist Junior Tom Johnson ran a personal best 60m Hurdles time of 10.52. Marist Junior Joe Donnelly hurdled a personal best time of 12.65.

 In the Junior Varsity 60m Low Hurdles, Marist Freshman Nathan Tamez hurdled a personal best time of 13.19. Marist Sophomore Michael Dwyer hurdled a personal best time of 14.13.

In the Varsity 800m run, Rockford Christian Junior Riley Wells won it with an official time of 1:59.37. Walter Payton Senior Matthew Marchbanks finished in second place with an official time of 2:04.78. Proviso East Junior Jamonte Flowers finished in third place with an official time of 2:06.95. Hoffman Estates Senior Shreekar Patel finished in fourth place with an official time of 2:09.89. Rockford Auburn Senior Andrew Baxter finished in fifth place to complete the scoring with an official time of 2:11.39.

Marist Sophomore Caleb Davis ran 200m splits of 29, 32 (61 seconds for 400m), 38, and then ran the final 200m in 41.40 seconds to outkick the trio of Machesney Park Junior Jon Contreras (2:21.29), Walter Payton Senior Jeffrey Aguirre (2:21.35), and Libertyville Junior Ben Johnson (2:21.64) to the finish line with an outstanding time of 2:20.40.

Marist Freshman Tommy Wagner ran 200m splits of 38, 45 (83 seconds for 400m), 50, and then ran the final 200m in an EVEN split of 50.81 for an official time of 3:03.81. Wagner gained outstanding experience racing in a Varsity race.
