PASTA PARTY WITH ALL-AMERICAN RICK WEMPLE ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2019

Posted by Jon Gordon on Feb 02 2019 at 04:00PM PST

The night before the Evanston Township Track and Field Invitational, the Marist RedHawks will be hosting a Pasta Party in Marist classroom 130. Prior to the Pasta Party, the TEAM will meet in the RedHawk Theatre at 4 pm to hear a special guest speaker.

Former NCAA Division I All-American and 4:04 miler Rick Wemple will be guest speaker at the Pasta Party. Rick Wemple attended Yale University where he won 6 Ivy League Titles in Track and earned Division I (One) All-American honors in Cross Country.

Wemple is a mental performance coach. His credentials include a bachelor of science in biology from Yale and a master’s in Exercise Science from Ohio State University. In addition, Rick is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, including a specialization in Behavior Change. He will be speaking about how the messages we give ourselves significantly influence our thoughts and physical state, and ultimately our decisions, actions and athletic performance.

Aurelio's Catering will provide the TEAM with a very healthy Team Dinner. The dinner will feature Garden Salad, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Pasta with Butter, Gluten free pizza, and bottled water.

A $50.00 annual fee will be collected from each member of the Marist Track and Field Team to help fund catering expenses for Pasta Partys throughout the 2019 Track and Field Season. Please make checks payable to "Marist High School". As of February 8, 2019, the following students have paid their annual Pasta Party fee (Bugos, Coccaro, Coy, Ferguson, Geary, Kavanaugh, Kerlin, Leonard, McNamara, Wagner, Vallie). Thanks.

The Team Pasta Dinners are great morale booster, and a great way for athletes to prepare for upcoming Track and Field meets.
