Official web site of Alle-West Fastpitch Inc. and the Alle-West Hurricane tournament teams. Most of our members and roster players are from Allegheny and Westmoreland counties in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

In Memory - We are shocked and heartbroken over the February 11, 2013 loss of Coach Chris Cortazzo.  Chris was a driving force in the success of our Alle-West Hurricane tournament teams.  His years of hard work and dedication will always be remembered, and his friendship will be treasured.  Although our Hurricane players have now moved on in their athletic, academic, and professional careers, the Hurricane families remain a close-knit group.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Dee, Kirstie and Delaney at this difficult time.

Congrats to the 18U and 14U Hurricane ladies for a great start in 2008!!!

Beach Finale 2007 - The 16U Alle-West Hurricane wound up its 2007 season in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina representing Pennsylvania at the WFC World Series - a week of fun in the sun - and a 4-2 world series record! Next up: 18U competition!

Congrats to the 12U and 16U Alle-West Hurricane teams - Go 'Canes!!!

Penn Twp PA 2007 -
PT's Memorial Day weekend tournament had the Hurricane 16U defeating Whitby Eagles 5-1, Predators 4-3, and Power 9-1. After a brilliant 3-run comeback during a rain-shortened Saturday evening game, Hurricane's 3-2 6th inning lead was erased by a shortened 5-minute "drop dead" time limit and the Roadrunners walked away with a 2-0 victory. After Sunday morning's 3-1 victory over Evolution, Hurricane faced off with Spirit (W). As Hurricane pitching and defense shut down the Spirit, an inspired Hurricane offense scored one run. A second Hurricane run was denied by an erroneous "out" call at home after the Hurricane runner avoided the Spirit catcher's tag. Spirit went on to hold off Hurricane scoring threats and won in the extra inning international tiebreaker. Congrats to Hurricane players for outstanding play at the NSA WPA Championships!

2007 Pre-Season Scrimmage Thanks - Thanks to John Dolan and the 16U Evolution for the April 22 scrimmage, and to Harry Rutherford and the 12U Renegades for the Saturday, March 31 scrimmage.

In Memoriam

A tribute to those Alle-West Hurricane family members whom we have lost.  They may not be seen at the field, but they live on forever in our memories...

We lost Grandma Val D'Angelo on Sunday, January 24, 2010.  Her favorite Hurricane tournaments included the 2010 championship run for 14u in Monroeville, PA and the  2008 PONY World Series for 16u in Youngstown, OH.

Zane Eugene Wallace passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jon, Kim, Brittany, Haley and the entire family.

Beaver Bash 2006 - Alle-West Hurricane blew through Ellis Field in Beaver, PA on Saturday, July 15 with a 2-1 record, finishing first in the pool to earn a bye in Sunday's elimination round, then dropped a 6-1 decision to the Spirit in Sunday's quarter finals.  Weekend's highlight - a 1-0, seven-inning no-hit victory vs. the Washington Wildfire!

2nd Place in Center Twp 2006! - Alle-West Hurricane defeated Chain Reaction 7-5, Vipers East 7-1, and Roadrunners 5-1, earning a number one seed.  June 25 elimination round - Hurricane erased a 4-2 deficit with a 9-run offensive explosion in the fifth inning to defeat the Wildfire 11-4.  Then with a 2-1 lead in the semi-final game, Hurricane hitters unleashed a 6-run offensive show in the fifth inning, earning a 10-5 victory over the Roadrunners and a trip to the championship game.  In the 14U final game, Hurricane took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, but Vipers Orange came up with a six-run fourth inning and cruised to a 6-1 victory. Another weekend of great softball, with big Hurricane hits, excellent pitching and solid defensive play - congratulations to the Vipers, and to the runner-up Alle-West Hurricane!

3rd Place in Chambersburg 2006!! - After a fine two-day effort in pool play (5 wins, 1 loss), Alle-West Hurricane defeated Maryland Stars 11-10 on June 18 in the elimination round of the PA Softball Mid-Summer Classic.  Then the Hurricane faced off against the Lady Fireballs in the semifinal game.  After spotting the Fireballs a 1-0 lead, the Hurricane roared back to take a 4-1 lead, but fell just short of the finals by a score of 5-4.  The bats came alive in Chambersburg - including five home runs by four Hurricane players - and Hurricane pitching allowed NO homers in eight games!  Congratulations to the 2006 Hurricane 14U team for earning a third-place finish and a PONY World Series berth!!

2nd Place Finish at the 2006 IUP Showcase!!! - June 11 elimination round results:  Hurricane 12, Indiana Arrows 4.  Hurricane 4, Power 3 in a thrilling last-inning comeback.  Vipers East 6, Hurricane 3 in a hard-fought championship game.  Congratulations to the 2006 Hurricane 14U team for earning runners-up trophies and an NSA World Series berth!

 Scrimmage Thanks -
Alle-West Hurricane thanks Pam Donaldson and the 14U Evolution, Tom Yeager and the 16U Vipers, and Dave Dimpel and the 14U Pittsburgh Pride for the 2006 Spring scrimmage games.
