Field Prep Day and Tryouts

Field Prep Day: Saturday 2/25 10 am to 1 pm rain or shine. Players and parents bring your rakes, wheel barrows, weed eaters, gloves, etc and help get the softball field looking great for tryouts and the season. Players earn Honor Society hours.

Tryouts: Start Monday 2/27 and go through Thursday 3/2, 3-5 pm (Wed 2-4 pm). Attendence Monday-Wednesday is required. Cuts will be made 2nd or 3rd day. The results will be posted on Thursday.


Optional Workouts:

Mondays starting 1/9/17:Work outs in the weight room with Curtis Clay 3pm - 4pm (Curtis has to leave at 3:45).

Wednesdays starting 1/4/17: On-field workouts 3pm. Will work on arm care program/routine for the first hour.

*These workouts are optional for all players interested in trying out for the 2017 JV and Varsity teams. The Curtis sessions will have a fee (TBD). Players will sign-in at each session and be billed for the sessions they attend end. Contact Diana Boyd with questions.

Player/Coaches Meeting: Wednesday 1/18/17, 2pm All interested players meet with the coaches (in WHS library).

Note this meeting is for players, a parents meeting is held after tryouts on 3/7.

JV and Varsity Tryouts: Week of 2/27/17

Spring Sports Meeting: Tuesday 3/7/17 Time and room location at WHS to be determined. This meeting is for the parents of the players who made the rosters of the 2017 JV and Varsity teams.

Welcome Coach Kocik!

And finally, the Lady Falcons Fastpitch would like to welcome Kim Kocik, the new JV Coach. CoachKocik played two years at Shoreline Community College, then two years at Central WashingtonUniversity. She is currently an assistant coach for the Elite Diamonds 16U and works at the YMCA.

Fourth Annual Winter Clinics

We invite you to our 4th annual Winter Clinics featuring the WHS Fastpitch Falcons- KingCo Regular Season Champions! This event is open to ALL little league players-we welcome our surrounding little leagues to participate!
 
This is an indoor event, please wear athletic shoes (no cleats). Bring your glove, bat, and helmet (equipment will be available for all players) Fundamentals, drills, skills, and FUN with the Falcons- sign up today, registration is limited for each session.
 
Session 1 December 4th 10am-12pm @ WHS
Session 2 December 11th 10am-12pm @ WHS
Session 3 December 18th 10am-12pm @ WHS
 
The event is FREE for all little leaguers. The Falcon Athletic Boosters will be collecting donations for this great group of players and all donations go to FAB, a 501(c)3 organization. For your $20 donation a t-shirt is included! For your $75 donation you get all 3 clinics (that's 9 hours of instruction!), a t-shirt, a headband, and a special gift. Go Falcons! Donations are payable by check to FAB.

 4A State Tournament - Woodinville Finishes 2nd in State!

4A KingCo All-League

First Team:

 Lauryn

Lauryn Rhinehart, Pitcher (Junior)

Lauryn was the #1 pitcher and played shortstop. She had 22 RBI’s on 35 hits in the #1 slot. She had 14 doubles and 4 home runs. Her BA was 0.412 and slugging was .718, with an OBP of .476. On defense Lauryn had 15 putouts 185 assists and only 3 errors.

 Olivia

Olivia Riener, First Base (Junior)

Olivia started at firstbase and played backup pitcher. She had the second highest RBI’s with 27 on 28 hits. Liv had had 5 doubles, 1 triple and led the team with 7 home runs batting .378 and was 2nd in slugging with .776, and an OBP of .527. Defensively she had 68 putouts, 28 assists and only 2 errors.

 Paige

Paige Grover, Designated Player (Junior)

Paige started at short or outfield and led the team in hitting. She had 23 RBI's on 32 hits, with 8 doubles, 4 triples, and 4 home runs. Her BA was .416 and slugging was .779, the highest on the team. On defense she had 29 putouts, 23 assists, with only 2 errors.

 

 Taylor

Taylor Rhinehart, Utility Player (Junior)

Taylor played short, outfield or backup pitcher and hit in the #2 slot. Playing through injury she still had 15 RBI's on 21 hits, with 1 triple and 1 home run. Her BA was .381, slugging .472, and OBP .458. On defense she had 30 putouts and 30 assists with zero errors. 

 Coach Dani

Dani Weir, Coach of the Year-Tie

Coach Weir was named KingCo 4A 1st Team Coach of the Year as well as the Seattle Times Star Times All Area Coach. She guided the Falcons to a third KingCo 4A regular-season title in her four-year tenure and fourth trip to state (where they finished 2nd). Falcon's ended 17-4 in regular season play, raising Weir’s career record to 87-16.

Second Team:

 Jordyn

Jordyn Boyd, Catcher (Junior)

Jordyn started at catcher and outfield. She had the most RBI's on the team with 30 on 34 hits. She hit 6 doubles, 1 triple and 3 home runs with a BA of .442 and slugging of .662. Her OBP was 0.52. Defensively she had 156 putouts, 4 assists and 2 errors.

 Megan

Megan Taketa, Second Base (Freshman)

Megan played second base and had 5 RBI's on 13 hits. Her BA was .361, slugging was .361 and OBP was .462. She had 32 putouts, 21 assists and 5 errors.

 Katie

Katie Kelly, Outfield (Senior)

Katie played outfield and ran as a courtesy and pinch runner. She had 4 RBI's on 4 hits. She had 14 putouts with only one error.

 Gina

Gina Wyner, Third Base (Junior)

Gina started at third base, she had 6 RBI's on 6 hits including 4 doubles and a triple. Her slugging percentage was .387 and OBP was .341. Defensively she had 18 putouts, 23 assists and 4 errors.

 Erin

Erin McGrath, Outfield (Sophomore)

Erin played outfield and had 10 RBI's on 22 hits, including 2 doubles. Her BA was .309, slugging was .338 and OBP was .372. On defense she had 23 putouts, 1 assist, and 1 error.

Game 12: Woodinville (9) vs Skyline (1): Woodinville Weekly: WHS Softball: Falcons turn the Paige on Skyline, win 9-1.

Game 11: Woodinville (10) vs Bothell (0): Bothell Reporter: Woodinville (9-2, 7-1) has won five in a row, following a 1-0 loss to league-leading Skyline on March 31. Olivia Riener struck out six batters with no walks in a complete-game victory.

Game 10: Woodinville (11) vs Mt Si (1):  Woodinville Weekly: Reiner and Hein Power Falcons Past Mt Si

Game 9: Woodinville (7) vs Issaquah (2)

Game 8: Woodinville (16) vs Inglemoor (3): Woodinville Weekly: Falcons Feast on Inglemoor Pitching. The Varsity Falcon’s had another successful night over Inglemoor last night winning, 16-3 on the Vikings turf. Hits for the night included Lauryn’s 2 singles and a double (2 RBI’s), Taylor Rhinehart’s 2 singles (2 RBI’s), Jordyn’s 3 singles and a triple (1 RBI), Skylar Hein’s single, Olivia Riener’s amazing 2 home runs (6 RBI’s), and Erin McGrath’s 2 singles (2 RBI’s). Lauryn Rhinehart pitched and Jordyn Boyd backed her up behind the plate.

Game 7: Woodinville (11) vs Redmond (0): The Falcon's had a great home game last night against Redmond, started off by Jordyn Boyd's home run RBI. Other hits included a single by Taylor Rhinehart (RBI), a double and HR by Skylar Hein (3 RBI's), a single by Olivia Riener, a single and HR by Bailey Burger-Moore (3 RBI's), a single by Paige Grover, and 2 singles by Erin McGrath (RBI). Taylor pitched and Skylar caught, finishing with a wet but decisive 11-0 shutout against the Mustangs. 

Game 6: Woodinville (0) vs Skyline (1): With Lauryn Rhinehart pitching and Jordyn Boyd catching the Falcon's and Spartan's held each other scoreless until the bottome of the seventh inning when Skyline scored.
