April 14th---Falcons Lose to Bothell

Posted by Rob OFarrell at May 1, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Maria pitched a tremendous game but the Bothell pitcher did likewise, and Falcons ended up losing a heart-breaker, 2-1.

Cat drove in the Falcons' only run in the sixth inning with an infield hit that scored Shelby.

Bothell scored a run in the fourth on a first-and-third steal of home, and the game winner in the bottom of the sixth.

The Falcons began their season with a 7-1 win over Monroe.

Kaaren and Maria split the pitching duties, and combined for a one-hitter, striking out nine between them.

Kaaren hit the first pitch she saw in 2009 over the left field fence in the second inning, for the Falcons' first run.  Cat's two-run single spear-headed a six-run Falcon fifth inning that put the game away.

Posted by Rob OFarrell at May 1, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

On the first truly sunny day of the Spring the Falcons beat Roosevelt 6-0 in a game featuring three Falcon triples.

The Falcons scored in the first on a walk to Maggie, a stolen base, and a single by scary-hot Lindsay, who was in the midst of what ended up being a streak of ten consecutive hits.

Maria and Zoe singled in the second inning and Maggie drove in Maria.

Cat hit the first Falcon triple in the fifth and scored on Lindsay's single. Maggie later tripled in the sixth, adding to her own string of ten hits in twelve at-bats.  And Lindsay tripled to lead off the seventh, scoring on Kaaren's second single of the day.
