News and Announcements

Just as the girls arrived at Skyline for the second of their KingCo Conference games of the year the skies opened up and the rain came down.  After squandering an opportunity in the top of the first with runners in scoring position, Skyline was able to get a couple runners on board due to walks and then punch a hard line drive double past center field to score 2 runs.  Just like that the Falcons were down 0-2.

Digging in for a good game, our Woodinville girls started it up with the bats in the third inning with Alyssa O'Farrell with a sharp single and then being drove in by Madi Schreyer to cut the lead to 1-2.  In the fourth inning, Emily Jackson laid down a nice bunt followed by another by Maggie Loyet with two on Skyline made a throwing error to score two runs to put the Lady Falcons up 3-2.   Pushing across another run the girls were on a roll with a two run lead at 4-2.

In the 7th inning Emily Jackson smoked a home run over deep center field to make it 5-2.  Maggie Loyet then hit a nice line drive single for Alex Boyd to narrowly miss a home run to deep right field ending up on 2nd and Maggie in at home for a 6-2 lead.

Madi settled in after the first inning and proceeded to record 14 strike outs in 7 innings of work.

Off to Gig Harbor to play the reigning Oregon 6A State Champion North Medford at noon on Saturday.

The Lady Falcons jumped on the board early, snagging 2 runs in the 1st. Tori Lettus continued her hitting frenzy with a triple, Emily Jackson added 3 singles to the Falcons 10 hits and the battery- Madi Schreyer and Alex Boyd each dropped some seriously deep HRs. Madi was a stud on the mound, going 5 innings and earning 8 Ks to take the shut out over the Wolves 11-0.

You will find the Falcons next at Sklyine HS Wednesday at 4pm.

On a bitter cold night at the Falcons home field, the Woodinville girls got out to a fast start putting up 4 runs in the first with a two-out rally started by Junior Tori Lettus ripped double capped off with Senior Alex Boyd 2 run home-run.  Madi Schreyer pitched the first two innings striking out 5.  From there it was a hit attack with Tori banging out 3 hits, Junior Maggie Loyet getting a couple of nice hits and Madi tearing the cover off of a double down the left field line.

Sophomore Kathryn Hatlen came in to pitch 3 innings giving up just two runs and striking out 3.  Some nice defensive plays as well with the play of the game going to Senior Alex Nelson with a diving snag in the hole at 2nd base and then a back flip to Sophomore Alyssa OFarrell at first for the third out of the 4th inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd.  What a play!

We start league play on Monday vs Eastlake at home.

In our 2013 home opener, the Lady Falcons Fastpitch had their hands full with a tough Todd Beamer team that came to play.  After struggling with a over-generous strike zone and un-characteristic defensive errors our girls were able to squeak out a win 3-2.

Experience was the storyline in this game for the Falcons with Madi Schreyer punching out 14 batters and going deep for her 3rd home run of the season.  Senior Emily Jackson got things going after the Falcons going through the order without a run on the board.  In her 2nd at bat she took the wide-strike-zone into her own hands ripping a high fast ball off the Beamer 3rd baseman for a leadoff double.  Emily then stole third and stole home to get the Falcons off to a 1-0 lead.

Beamer fought back putting a run up in the top of the 3rd which the Lady Falcs answered to in the bottom with a leadoff triple by Junior Tori Lettus and then a 2 run home run by Madi Schreyer to put the Lady Falcons up 3-1.

Beamer put another run up and runners on the bases a number of other times during the game but Madi just cranked it up a notch and sat them down by either a strike out or a lazy ground out.

Girls are at home on Friday against Everett for another non-conference challenge.
