Madi Schreyer was dominate last night in the KingCo Championship game against Bothell.  Hitting the mound with laser focus, Schreyer punches out 14 batters while scattering 4 hits.   It took a couple of innings to get things going but in the fourth Alyssa O'Farrell led off with a double and Alex Boyd walked which gave Tori Lettus the chance to stay hot with the stick and she delivered.  Smoked a 2 RBI double to get the Lady Falcons up 2-0 and on their way to the KingCo Title for the 8th time in 9 seasons.  Senior Emily Jackson and Nicole Shavlik got into the action with RBI triples and then Senior Alex Boyd sent a monster home-run deep over left center to put the Falcons up 5-0.

The Lady Falcons are 52-0 in KingCo play the past three seasons and take their 22-1 record over to Spokane to defend their 2012 4A State Title next weekend.

For the third time this year the Lady Falcons met Redmond but this time there were stakes on the table which obviously got the attention of the Woodinville girls...a berth back to State.  This was unfortunate for Redmond as the first inning lasted 45 minutes and the Lady Falcons batted around the line-up (and a half) putting up 9 runs.  With lots of young talent on Redmond it was clear they weren't ready for that kind of bombardment and broke under the pressure giving up 4 errors in the first inning.

Bats were alive with Madi Schreyer missing a home-run by a foot, Alyssa OFarrell driving in 3 runs, Nicole Shavlik driving in two runs, smashed line drives by Tori Lettus and Sara Taketa...it was just an offensive show which showcased Woodinville's ability to turn-it-on.

Madi was brutal on the mound too striking out 10 batters and giving up 6 hits; only one ball struck hard.  Half of those were mis-hits on wicked stuff from Madi that dribbled in front of our catcher.  But with great speed like Redmond has they were able to capitalize on it for 4 runs over 7 innings.

Woodinville now plays Bothell on Friday at 7pm at Inglemoor HS for the KingCo Title and the #1 Seed from KingCo in the State Tournament next weekend in Spokane.

First round of the KingCo Tournament last night at Woodinville High School saw top ranked Woodinville taking on KingCo Crown Division #4 seed Issaquah.  Wild day of weather passed just as game time approached and our Lady Falcons hit the field with eyes on another KingCo Championship.

Madi was sharp all night tossing a no-hitter in her last game on the home turf striking out 11 batters.  What a fitting way to end her career at Woodinville and establish a legacy that will reign for a long time in KingCo.

Madi, Alex Boyd and Kathryn Hatlen had the bats going with timely RBI hits to score the 6 runs for Woodinville.

On to the semi-finals vs Redmond on Wed evening at 7pm at Inglemoor.
