KingCo Tournament: Redemptive 12-1 Mercy Win Over Issaquah for our Lady Falcons

Posted by Rob OFarrell on May 17 2014 at 05:00PM PDT in 2019 JV

Out at Inglemoor High School for the first round of the KingCo Tournament vs Issaquah.  Our Lady Falcons were set to redeem their league loss and focus on the ultimate prize ahead... a berth to State for the fourth year in a row.

Issaquah out of the gate weren't going to go easily as they had plenty of enthusiasm and confidence as they put up a quick run on a couple of nice hits.

Though in the bottom of the second we got things going with a leadoff single by Tori Lettus to right field, a walk by Jordan Boyd and then a laser line drive RBI single by Lauryn Rhinehart to tie things up.

Olivia Riener on the mound went right at the batters and good pitching and defense kept runs off the board for Issaquah as we added another run with Olivia doubling to left center and Tori driving her in with her second of three hits on the night.  Jordan and Lauryn had back to back walks and Nicole Shavlik cleared the bases with a 3 RBI double to open it up to 5-1.

In the 6th inning we got it going again with singles by Kathryn Hatlen, Alena Jones and Tori,  doubles by Sara Taketa and Jordan and the runs were stacking up for Woodinville up 10-1 when Issaquah made a last ditch effort with a pitching change knowing one more run would mercy rule them, though Alyssa O'Farrell had other plans as she smashed a two-run walk off home run to end the game.

Next up is Newport at 5pm on Monday at Inglemoor.
