PYOTT & BOUNDS DO IT AGAIN AT PUMPKIN MAN!

LA QUINTA, CA - Multisports OC members Ian Pyott and Brandy Bounds were the overall male and female champions at the Pumpkin Man Sprint Triathlon held October 16, 2005 at Lake Cahilla in La Quinta. This is the second race in less than a month that the two were overall champs as they recently both won overall titles at the Long Beach Triathlon. Multisports OC also took the Team Cup Championship title due to numerous podium finishes in several age groups. Coach Michael Collins was 4th overall (but the first American), in winning the 35-39 age group. Louis Bednar was not far behind finishing 5th overall and winning the 30-34 age group. Second place finishers included Tracy White (40-44), Arnold "the pig" Ziffel (45-49), Karen Mastro (50-54), Klim Granovsky (55-59), Joel "the heaviest Mole" Rodgers (2nd in Clydesdale), and the Men's Relay Team "HB Surfers" of Michael Wichman and Dean Weitz. YOUTH & JUNIOR TRAINING, RACING & CAMPS

Multisports Orange County offers technique instruction, training programs, coaching, and clinics, for developing younger athletes ages 8-18 in addition to adults. The emphasis is on teaching the skills of sport (swimming, cycling, and running, & transitions) BEFORE emphasizing the training aspect. Lessons and Practices have an empahsis on learning, safety, and fun. Many of our group practices allow adults and their children to train together - which is a great positive bonding experience to have with your children.

Contact Coach Collins to set up an initial technique evaluation and goals review. From there  a plan can be established for the long term development of the athlete.

MALIBU NAUTICA & VEGAS HALF HIGHLIGHTS

MALIBU, CA - Andy Bailey crushed the next guy in the 65-69 age group by 11 minutes! Kristin Thorkelson continues to blaze the transition area with a smokin' T2 and finished 2nd in 30-34 at the Malibu Natica Triathlon. Hubby Mark Haskins also had a solid performance placing 8th out of 162 in the 35-39 age group. Jason Hong continues to show improvement as well. Results available HERE In Las Vegas Jeff Brown continues to amaze us in his rookie season by finishing 2nd overall in a Half Ironman race. He went 4:53 in 90 degree weather and ran an incredible 1:31 half marathon off the bike. Watch out IM Florida - this guy means "bid-nezz". Quinton Berry also had a good race finishing 34th overall and 6th in 30-34. Results available HERE image
LONG BEACH, CA - Multisports OC members & coaches Ian Pyott and Brandy Bounds were the overall male and female winners at the 2005 Long Beach Sprint Triathlon. They led a large group of nearly 30 Multisports OC and Nova Masters participating in the event. Tyler Rodgers won the 13 & under by 15 minutes and would have placed top 3 all they up to the 18-19 age group. Becky Fhaherty won the 20-24 women, Mike Cowdrey 30-34 men, Klim Granovsky 55-59 men. Keith Rejino was 2nd in 40-44, and Tord Benner was 3rd in 45-49. Michael Wichman and Dean Weitz combined to take 3rd in the Men's Relay division.
