News and Announcements
Dear PALL Families,
We would like to take the time to thank the 2016-2017 Executive Board and Board Committee members for their dedication to the Poway American Little League over this last year. During this last year the entire board has volunteered tirelessly to make Poway American Little League a wonderful organization for our youth to come together for the love of baseball and community. We have several board members who have spent the last several years helping to make this league an outstanding organization that will not be returning for this 2017-2018 season. We’d like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the following exiting members; Bobby Ronsse; Paul Klepsch, Stephanie Evans, and Jeff Wurtz. The league could not have operated without your dedication.

Poway American Little League
We just wanted to remind everybody about the new bat standard for Little League that begins January 1st, 2018. Bats that meet the new standards are available in stores and online beginning on Sept 1st, 2017. All bats that were legal in 2017 will no longer be able to be used in 2018. If you plan on buying a new bat soon please buy one that meets the new USA Baseball Standard. The below links have more info about the new rule.
With the Little League® International Board of Directors formally adopting USA Baseball’s new standard for bat performance testing, Little League International fully supports this program. For more than seventy-five years, Little League has used improvements in science, engineering, and technology to take the sport of baseball to higher levels. By utilizing the most current advancements available, manufacturers can now develop bats with a wood-like performance, which is important for the long-term success of the game. Developed by a USA Baseball committee of scientific experts, Little League Baseball® has decided to adopt the new bat standard for mandated use effective January 1, 2018. All national members of USA Baseball, including Little League, are encouraged to adopt this new standard. Little League-approved bats can be used through December 31, 2017, and our current bat regulations will be in effect until then. That includes the moratorium prohibiting the use of all 2 ¼ inch barrel baseball bats constructed with composite material in the barrel, unless approved. Visit LittleLeague.org for detailed information. Little League looks forward to working with USA Baseball, and will begin educating our local leagues, and the parents of our 2.1 million baseball players, preparing them for the important change coming in 2018.

Hello Poway American Little League!
A belated but well-deserved congratulations is in order for our Umpire in Chief, Tom Naylor. In July, Tom was awarded the John Coffey Award by the Coffey Award Committee for his work on behalf of Poway American Little League and District 31 during the 2017 Spring Season.
The John W. Coffey Award was established in 1997 by Earlene Coffey. It is presented annually to honor a volunteer umpire within District 31 who; by their effort, respect and dedication, reflect the standards established by the late, former District 31 Umpire-in-Chief, John Coffey.
Tom worked tirelessly organizing our umpire assignments, training, youth umpires, and umpiring many games throughout the spring. We can’t thank him enough and are proud to have him represent our league as the John Coffey Award recipient.
From the entire PALL family,* Way to Go Tom!*
