News and Announcements

The 10U Spikes played well in their first tournament of the season, The D&B Rustbuster Classic held in Owensboro, KY. The name appropriately fit as the boys were "sanding" off the "rust" to get "polished" up for the upcoming 2007 season. They finished runner-up to a very good and fundamentaly sound team, The 10U Bearcat Nationals from Bowling Green Ky. They also faced other excellent competition from a variety of teams including the Dubios County Crush, Evansville Extreme and the Lyndon Lightning. Way to go Spikes 10U!!!image

Each year it seems as if players may out grow a bat, a glove or some other piece of equipment. It's still in pretty good shape, but can no longer be used by your son. Now there is a place where you can post those "out grown" items for sale and turn those items into cash to help offset the cost of a new item you may need to purchase. This can be done on the "new" Spikes want ad webpage on this site. Just click on the "Sports Items For Sale/Want To Buy Ads" on the left menu. These postings may also help another player pick up a good piece of equipment at a reduced cost helping offset the expenses incurred in travel baseball. Postings are welcomed from "other" teams and organizations as well as Spikes members. ....You can even post a "wanted ad" if you are looking for something particular.... Just read and follow the directions after "clicking" on the menu. image
The athletic field is where the kids learn the lessons of life and have fun. They learn that winning isn’t as important as preparing to win… They learn never to give up… They learn to lose with dignity… They learn to win with honor…They learn that you can be whatever you want to be if you work hard enough at it… They may never be first-team or all-state or an all-American, but the important thing is that they try…They learn to be good citizens… It’s better to be a good American than an all-American.image
