PLACE: Fleet Street Fields AGES:  7-14 Year Olds (Baseball Age) DATE:  Sunday May 1st, 2005 TIME:  11:30AM Registration Pepsi Major League Baseball PITCH, HIT & RUN provides youngsters across the country the opportunity to participate in an exciting baseball skills competition. PITCH, HIT & RUN is a free national program that gives boys and girls ages 7 to 14 the chance to showcase their baseball abilities. PITCH, HIT & RUN is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the fun element of baseball. There is no registration fee. Boys and girls compete together in four different age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Age is determined as of July 17, 2005. Locally the competition is being held by The Forest Hills Little League. PITCH, HIT & RUN is designed to test three of the most fundamental aspects of baseball: pitching, hitting & running.
  • PITCH - The participant is tested throwing strikes to a designated "Strike Zone" target.
  • HIT - Allows the youngster to hit a ball off a stationary tee for distance and accuracy.
  • RUN - The youngster is timed, starting from second base, touching third and then home. Skill events are individually scored and converted to a total point score through the use of conversion tables. Each participant will compete in each of the three components of PITCH, HIT & RUN and accumulate a total score based on his or her performance. There are four levels of competition that exist for PITCH, HIT & RUN: Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships and the National Finals to be held during the 2005 Major League Baseball All Star game.image

    Volunteers Wanted !!

    Posted by Michael Polikoff at Dec 26, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Successful youth programs at Forest Hills Little League are only possible as a result of our volunteers. FHLL needs volunteers with all types of skills to run its programs for the youth of the Forest Hills Community. Everyone is aware of the need for Managers, Coaches, League Officials and Committee Members. Without them we certainly couldn't provide the programs that we do. However, on occasion we also need Umpires, Scorekeepers, Field Maintenance Workers, Writers, Photographers, Graphics Artists, Editors, etc. During the course of our programs each year these and many other skills are required to keep FHLL programs running for our children. We always need help with something. MAKE A DIFFERENCE... Please give some consideration to being a volunteer at FHLL!!!! Currently, we need volunteers for the following programs and/or projects:
  • Yearbook/Journal -- Anyone who has experience putting together a yearbook/journal or anyone interested in assisting with this effort. If you can help us, please contact Larry at 718-544-2296 or email him at larry @ fhyaa.com

    *NOTICE* FHLL By-Laws Amendment

    Posted by Michael Polikoff at Dec 21, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Please note that at the December FHLL General Meeting, an amendment to the by-laws was voted on and passed that states: In order to be eligible to vote for officers at the annual election, members must attend and sign into a minimum of 4 meetings during the 10 months following the last election.
Due to a major problem incurred by the photographer, individual and team pictures taken in April 2004 are not available. Because of this unfortunate occurrence, the Forest Hills Little League will make complete restitution and issue a full refund to all those who ordered and paid for whatever photo selection was made. We realize that it may have been a hardship for you to pick up the refund on the dates originally assigned. We are therefore making an extended effort to accommodate everyone by having another set of pickup dates which are the same days of FINAL Little League Registration:
  • December 02, 2004 (07:30PM to 9:30PM)
  • December 03, 2004 (07:30PM to 9:30PM)
  • December 04, 2004 (10:00AM to 12:00Noon) We respectfully request everyone's concerned cooperation so that we can put to rest this unfortunate problem. Looking forward to seeing you on December 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Sincerely yours,
