Congratulations to all of the youngsters that participated in this year's Pepsi Pitch, Hit & Run Local Competition held at the Forest Hills Little League Fleet Street Fields on May 1st, 2005. The All-Around Champion, Pitching Champion, Hitting Champion and Running Champion in each age group (see results above) from our Local Competition will advance to the SECTIONAL Competition held on Sunday, May 29th @ 1:00PM on Field #5 FDR Drive (corner of FDR Drive & Houston Street) in Manhattan. Click here for directions. At the Sectional, the youngster must be a 1st Place All-Around Champion in his/her age group in order to qualify to advance to the TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP. The Sectional All-Around Champions' scores are compared with the other Sectional Champions' scores in that respective MLB team market. The Top 4 participants in each age group advance to the TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP held during June in all 30 Major League Baseball markets. The Sectional Champion does NOT automatically advance to the Team Championship. After the Team Championships, the All-Around Champions in each age group are ranked nationally by total score. The champions' scores from all 30 team markets are compared and the Top 4 in each age group nationwide advance to the National Finals in Detroit, MI. The National Finals are held during Major League Baseball’s All-Star Week, the 16 Finalists (four in each age group) will compete in the 2005 All-Star festivities at Detroit's Comerica Park as exclusive guests of Major League Baseball. The Forest Hills Little League would like to extend a special thanks to Jon LaMountain, Dawn Brito and all the parent volunteers for giving our youngsters the chance to showcase their talent during this special event and for giving them the opportunity to represent our league in the Sectional Competitions and beyond. Good Luck Champions! Pepsi PITCH, HIT & RUN (TM) provides youngsters across the country an opportunity to participate in an exciting baseball skills competition. This national initiative gives boys and girls, ages 7-14, the chance to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. PITCH, HIT & RUN is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the “FUN” element of baseball. Since there is NO registration fee, everyone has the opportunity to participate.image
