The Forest Hills 7/8 Bombers earned the right to play in the championship game with a thrilling 3 to 1 victory over The Ozone Howard Terminators. It was a tense game as both teams did their best to push a run across the plate to try to take the lead. The Terminators had their chances as they were able to get at least two men on base in every inning but great pitching and defense by the Bombers shut down the rallies. The Bombers had their chances also. In the second, Dylan led off with a double. Tommy and Daniel walked to load the bases with one out. The Terminators' pitcher came back and got the next two batters to end the scoring opportunity.

Ozone Howard threatened again with two on and no outs in the top of the fourth and even loaded the bases after two outs. They were all left stranded. In the bottom of the fourth Dylan singled with one out for the Bombers but was left stranded too. As the game got further along, the teams kept trading zeros on the scorebook.

Micheal started for the Bombers and had to work through every inning. The terminators were able to get men on but Micheal always reached down and got that last out before any damage was down. He pitched 2 and 2/3 innings before reaching the maximum 75 pitches thrown, allowing no runs while striking out 7. Maia relieved him in the bottom of the third and got the last out on a fly to center that Zion made a good play on. She also had to work hard as the hitters for Ozone Howard were patient and had a good eye at the plate.  Maia got out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth. Arthur helped out with an assist on a grounder to second in the fifth and Maia finished with 6 strikeouts for the game while pitching 3 innings.

The Bombers would finally break the shutout in the bottom of the fifth. Daniel started it off with a lead off single and advanced to second on a bad throw. Garrett walked and after two outs, Maia walked to load the bases. Micheal came up and delivered a line shot into right field that went to the fence. Daniel, Garrett and Maia all raced home on the triple and the Bombers were ahead 3 to 0. Awesome stroke Micheal! Good hustle on the base pads team!

The Terminators battle hard all game long and were not going down in the sixth without a fight. Maia retired the first two batters but the next two got on by walks. She also reached the 75 pitch limited and had to come out. Casey was called on to get the final out. Tension filled the air as she hit the first batter she faced and loaded the bases. She got the next batter to hit a grounder but the team could not covert it for a putout and a run scored. With two outs and the tying and wining runs on base ready to go on any contact, both benches were on the edge of their seats "willing" the outcome of the game. Casey struck out the next batter looking on a 3-2 pitch to save the game for the Bombers and send them to the championship game! Great Save Casey!
Great pitching Micheal and Maia!

The entire team chipped in for this win. The outfield of Daniel, Casey, Zion and Garrett got to hits, backed up well, caught a fly ball and got the ball in quickly to prevent the runners from advancing. The infield of Maia, Micheal, Arthur, Dylan and Tommy covered their bases, kept their gloves down and made a few good stops. Andrew did a great job catching behind the plate. He was getting his glove on everything and caught a bunch of foul tips too. He definitely helped out his pitchers. Great Job Team!

So far in this playoff, the home team has won each game. It's too bad that Forest Hills will break that streak to take the Championship at Bayside. Watch out Bayside - Here come the Bombers! Go Bombers!!!
