Murray Ky. USSSA NIT Results...

Posted by Keith Waninger on Apr 09 2006 at 05:00PM PDT in 2011 Season
The weekend started out as looking as if no baseball would occur. 'Ole Mother Nature pushed several storms through the Murray Kentucky area on Friday but Tab Brockman (the tournament director) had tarped all of the fields and by Saturday morning the tournament was on...although a little wintery, it was still on. All six Spikes teams were entered in this great 5th annual event. As Sunday rolled around the temperatures warmed up and so did the Spikes by having five of the six teams making it into the semi-finals. As the championship day finished, two Spikes teams emerged on top of their respective divisions. The 9U beat out Sikeston (MO.) Bandits 3-1 to take top honors in their division (see their championship pic below). Click here for Spikes 9U USSSA Standings/Points/Results. The 12U team faced the Paducah Storm in the championship game and won 8-2. The 12U team also went 5-0 through out the tournament scoring a total of 45 runs and allowing only a total of 8.
