Spikes Baseball Teams 2004

The Spikes 12U team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, the 9, 10 and 11U teams went to Ft. Knox, Kentucky and the 13U's went across the Ohio River to Owensboro to compete in various 4th of July tournaments. The 9U team brought home the Runner up trophy from FT. Knox (and no, it was not made of gold...sorry!). The team competed well and had a good time. The 12U team participated in the "Gateway to the Best" AAYBA tournament held in St. Louis, Missouri. The event was played at the very nice Chesterfield Sports Complex (12 Fields). The 12U's division contained mainly "AAA" and "Major" teams. The 12U Spikes finished in 3rd place with a record of 4-2. Their only two losses came at the Hands of the St. Louis Toros. In the Semi-final game the Spikes rallied in the top of the final inning to take the lead 8-7, but were unable to keep the Toros from scoring two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. Way to go Spikes 12U! The 13U team participated in the D&B Sporting Events "Firecracker" tournament in Owensboro, Kentucky and claimed first place. Way to go Spikes!
