Basics I (5 & 6 yo)

All senior division players must report for a player evaluation-scrimmage on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at P.S. 101 located at 2 Russel Place, Forest Hills at 1 p.m.

This scrimmage will take the place of the player evaluations and ratings that were used in prior years to form the teams in your division. By holding a mandatory scrimmage the league administrators will be able to not only observe your skill level but also the way you participate in a game situation.

Allow 2 hours for this scrimmage. You must wear basketball shorts, an appropriate jersey (or T-shirt) and sneakers.  Bring something to drink.

Team placement will be based on this and other scrimmages, however, the league reserves the right to re-form any team early in the season in order to make the league fair and balanced.

All senior games this season will be played at P.S. 101 on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

The schedule for the next round of scrimmages and evaluations will be discussed at the Oct. 31 work out but please keep your schedule open for Sunday  afternoons and Tuesday evenings.

Player evaluations for all registered players in the 2011 Forest Hills Basketball Girls League will take place at PS 174 on the following days:

Round 1 - Friday, Nov. 4
Players last names starting with letters:
A - M at 6:30pm
N - Z at 7:30pm

Round 2 - Monday, Nov. 7
All players should arrive at the gym at 6:30pm for the 2nd round of the evaluations.  We will form temporary squads for scrimmageas and start to level the teams. 

PS 174 is located on Ellwell Crescent between Alderton St. and 65 Drive. Enter the gym through the door at the top of the steps on the side of the school building.  Officials from the League will supervise skill drills and scrimmages to determine the skill level of each player so that the teams for the season can be formed in a fair and balanced manner.

All girls should come to the gym at PS 174 wearing a gym uniform, basketball uniform, T-shirt and shorts or sweat pants. Sneakers are mandatory; leave your jewelry at home and bring a bottle of water or Gator-Aid (or similar drink).

Allow up to 2 hours for these evaluations.
