THE BRITISH ARE COMING! (again)

The number one soccer company in the United States, Challenger Sports, is returning to hold one of their highly successful British Soccer training camps in the hills of East Tennessee.

Sullivan County Soccer Association has teamed up to host the week long British Soccer camp during the week of June 2-6 at Warriors Path Park. Register early to get a free soccer jersey! (see the Challenger registration site for details.)

SCOSA *needs* volunteers!

...and not just the Tennessee kind (but that's OK, too!). we need interested folks (ie parents, grandparents, teens) to help us with admin and coordination duties for the Rec soccer program. this will improve the soccer experience for _your_kids_ and their friends who play soccer in the SCOSA Rec program -- and help us provide more and better opporunities for kids in our community to learn and play soccer.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 13, 2007) – The ETSU men’s soccer team has partnered with US Youth Soccer to promote Youth Soccer Month during the ETSU Fall Invitational presented by Citizens Bank on September 14 and 16.

As the number one youth participation sport in America, youth soccer is a leading contributor to the healthy lifestyle of millions of American families. Recognizing the impact and importance the sport of soccer plays in day to day lives America’s families, US Youth Soccer, the nation’s largest youth sports organization, is spearheading Youth Soccer Month – A Celebration of Soccer in America.

During the ETSU's women's soccer matches on Friday and Sunday, youth soccer participants will have the opportunity to socialize and get autographs from the ETSU men’s soccer team. Also, during halftime of each match there will be small contests and promotions where all youth soccer participants will have the opportunity to test their skills and win prizes.

Following the final match on Sunday the men’s soccer team will judge a series of contests for the U-10 and U-15 categories.

All youth soccer players are welcome to attend. Admission is free and free food and drink for all youth soccer participants will be provided on both Friday and Sunday.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 13, 2007) – The ETSU women’s soccer team is set to host its first ever ETSU Fall Invitational presented by Citizens Bank on September 14 and 16. The four-team event, which also includes Western Carolina, Stetson and Tennessee Tech, will be held at the new on-campus Summers Taylor Stadium.

“ETSU is proud to host our first ever East Tennessee State University Invitational Tournament for the fall of 2007. We are extremely excited to be able to host this first ever tournament in our new stadium on our campus,” said Buccaneer head coach Heather Henson.

The first matchup of the weekend will feature Stetson (1-1-1) and Western Carolina (3-2-0) beginning at 1 p.m. Following the match the Bucs (2-1-1) will take on instate foe Tennessee Tech (1-3-0).

Sunday’s first match will feature Stetson and Tennessee Tech beginning at Noon. The Bucs will again take to the field for a 4 p.m. matchup with former SoCon rival Western Carolina.

Complete results from the tournament will be posted on www.ETSUBucs.com at the conclusion of each day’s competition.
