Cape Aquatics swimmers had another strong meet with many best times, and new standards.
Hayden Tedhams (10) racked up 60 individual points, breaking five team records and picked up one 11-year-old FLAG cut. Hayden started off with lowering the team 10 & Under 100 yd. Free record that has been on the books since 1991 to 1:03.11 (-2.70) for 3rd place. In the 50 yd. Breaststroke, Hayden dropped 2.66 with a time of 37.80. The 100 yd. Backstroke was the second team record (1991) captured by Hayden, taking 1st place with a time of 1:12.38 (-2.35). In the 100 yd. I.M. Hayden captured another 1st place and team record (1991) with a time of 1:12.26 (-3.38). Hayden took 2nd in the 200 I.M. with a record (1991) time of 2:32.69 (-9.71). Hayden dropped .36 in the 50 Free finishing 3rd with 29.80. Showing his strength in all strokes, Hayden lowered his best time in the 100 yd. Breaststroke with a 2nd place time of 1:25.18 (-2.61). His fifth team record came in the 50 yd. Backstroke, taking 2nd in 34.07 (-.91).
Maddie Lehman (13) dropped 2.55 in the 100 yd. Back placing 6th with 1:04.74, improved 1.18 in the 100 yd. Free with 57.61, lowered her 100 yd. Fly time to 1:07.86 (-1.00), placed 3rd in her first 1,000 Free with a AA time of 11:31.36, shaved .82 off her 50 Free with a FLAG time of 26.23, achieved a second Senior time in the 200 yd. Backstroke dropping 16.24 with a time of 2:18.25 which placed her 2nd overall and lowered her 500 yd. Free to 5:33.97 (-6.63).
Ania Kokosinski (13) dropped 1.69 in the 200 yd. I.M. (2:23.42), finished 1st in the 100 yd. Back with a Senior qualifying time of 1:03.71 (-.45), improved .37 in the 100 yd. Free (57.38) and dropped 4.44 in the 500 yd. Free (5.39.33).
Skylar Gusler (12) went 8 for 8 with best times. In the 100 yd. Free he dropped 1.13 with a third place 1:00.23, he then finished 3rd in the 50 yd. Breaststroke with 33.01 (-2.36), he shaved .06 off in the 100 yd. Back (1:15.21), 1:21.97 for 6th in the 500 yd. Free (5:55.28), finished 5th in the 200 yd. I.M. with 2:30.72 (-1.61), 8th in the 50 yd. Free with 27.94 (.36), 4th in the 100 yd. Breaststroke in 1:14.47 (-8.67) and 6th in the 100 yd. Fly with 1:15.81 (-7.07).
Kyndal Archambault (11) had best times in the 100 yd. Free (1:22.55 [-.57]), 50 yd. Butterfly (47.54 [-2.65]) and 50 yd. Free (35.53 [-1.09])
Genevieve Bailey (12) improved in the 50 yd. Breaststroke (42.98 [-1.27]), 100 yd. Individual Medley (1:23.02 [-.08] and picked up a “BB” in the 500 yd. Free (6:28.91 [-39.63]).
Serenity Bailey (9) dropped 7.50 seconds in the 100 yd. Free (1:40.97), 4.23 seconds in the 50 yd. Breaststroke (1:06.69) and 5.17 seconds in the 100 yd. I.M. (2:02.62).
Savannah Braun (14) shaved 6.66 seconds off her 200 yd. Breaststroke (3;19.32).
Kaylee Campbell (10) took 8.38 off her 100 yd. Free (1:31.34) and 11.01 off in the 200 yd. Free (3:19.57).
Parker Donohue (8) took an amazing 26.85 seconds off his 50 yd. Free (52.53).
Liam Dugan (16) finished 7th as he lowered his 100 yd. Back time to 1:02.18 (-.63).
Faith Fuhrman (13) improved 10.78 seconds in the 200 yd. I.M. (2:46.64), dropped 13.19 seconds in the 100 yd. Back (1:21.59), 1.57 in the 100 yd. Fly (1:16.41), 3.11 in the 100 yd. Breaststroke (1:34.09) and a fantastic 17.34 seconds in the 500 yd. Free (6:49.44).
Elijah Goins (12) in six events he had a time he improved. In the one he had no time, the 1,000 Free, he picked up a BB (12:43.96). He placed 8th in the 50 yd. Breaststroke with a time of 36.42 (-1.76), he dropped 6.59 in the 100 yd. Back (1:16.05), 9.42 in the 100 I.M. (1:11.80), 23.43 in the 500 yd. Free (6:18.18) and 11.91 in the 200 yd. I.M. (2:38.09).
Laiza Kortkamp (10) had first time swims in the 100 yd. Free (1:38.91), 50 yd. Free (41.80) and 50 yd. Back (52.95).
Jacob Lehman (10) had a best time in the 100 yd. Free with 1:30.34 (-.60), 100 yd. I.M. with 1:47.01 (-6.63) and 100 yd. Breaststroke with 2:05.35 (-4.70).
Christol Leishure took .11 off her best 200 I.M. time with 2:46.79.
Sarah Lewis (9) had first time swims in the 100 yd. Free (2:04.31) and 100 yd. I.M. (2:14.68).
Tyler Lewis (11) had a best time in the 100 yd. Free with 1:23.87 (-9.29) and 100 yd. I.M. with 1:44.10 (-1.84).
Alexis Marburger (12) achieved a B time in two events she swam for the first time. In the 200 yd. Free she was clocked in 2:36.39 and in the 200 yd. I.M. she finished with 2:54.87. In the 100 yd. Breaststroke Alexis dropped 8.28 to reach a B time of 1:32.93.
Riley McFarland (12) finished 3rd in the 50 yd. Breaststroke with 36.94 (-.05), finished 5th in the 50 yd. Free with an A time of 28.90 (-.13), dropped 26.27 in the 500 yd. Free (6:45.21), lowered her 100 Breaststroke time to a BB 1:23.68 (-1.30), and finished 7th in her first 1,000 Free with a B time of 14:00.94.
Taylor Tedhams (7) dropped .09 in the 25 yd. Free and took a 4th place in the 25 yd. Fly.
Gabe Wright (11) had several great first-time swims. In the 200 yd. Free he posted 2:45.22, in the 100 yd. Back he stopped the clock at 1:32.47. The 100 I.M. had Gabe hitting the touch pad at 1:30.64. The 200 yd. I.M. had Gabe splashing in with a time of 3:15.53.
Maison Wunderlich lowered her best 100 yd. Back time to 1:14.43 (-1.53) and shaved .29 off her 100 yd. Free time (1:03.56).

Fifty-two Cape swimmers participated in Saturday’s Swim Florida League Championships held in the Mac Kennedy pool at the Fort Myers Aquatic Center. Eight teams sent a total of 192 swimmers to this year’s meet. Cape repeated as the top team at this years event with 64 best times. It was obvious our coaches had their swimmers ready. Cape had 5 first places, 11 seconds and 7 third place finishes. Our swimmers demonstrated great ‘Super Heroes’ spirit both on the deck and in the water. Cape had a total of 61 swims reaching the top 8 in the 40 events, scoring well in every stroke gender and age group we had swimmers entered. Fantastic job by Coaches Anne, Eric, Kristen and Scott being sure our swimmers were ready for their races on a very hot day. Thank you to all our great Cape parents in supporting our team. Cape swimmers scored 326.5 points, FGCU had 306 and DeLeon was third with 289. Following is a list of swimmers reaching top eight at the meet.
 Maverick Bailey (10) placed 3rd in the 50 Yard Free and 50 Yd. Breast and finished things off with a best time and 1st place in the 50 Yd. Back.
 Savannah Braun (13) was 3rd in the 50 Yd. Back.
 Lucas Buenfil (6) was 2nd in both the 25 yd. Free and 25 Breast and finished on top in the 25 yd. Back.
 Kaylee Campbell (10) was 7th in the 50 yd. Back.
 Ella Cunningham-Crangle (9) finished 8th in the 50 yd. Back and 6th in the 50 yd. Fly.
 Danica Foster (6) was 5th in the 25 yd. Free and 4th in the 25 yd. Back.
 Faith Fuhrman (12) finished 4th in the 50 yd. Fly.

 Marco Guba (11) finished 8th in both the 50 yd. Breast and 50 yd. Back.
 Annabelle Hazelwood (10) was 4th in the 50 yd. Breast and 5th in the 50 yd. Fly.
 Hannah Johnson (10) finished 7th in the 50 yd. Free and 5th in the 50 Yd. Back.
 Jacob Lehman (10) splashed home in 2nd place in both the 50 yd. Free and 50 yd. Breast, and finished 3rd in the 50 yd. Fly.
 Christol Leishure (18) was 4th in the 50 yd. Back and 7th in the 50 yd. Fly.
 Matthew Leishure (12) finished 4th in the 50 yd. Free and 5th in the 50 yd. Breast.

 Thomas Tollai (10) was 7th in the 50 yd. Free, 4th in the 50 yd. Breast and 2nd in the 50 yd. Back.

Cape swimmers handled themselves extremely well moving from our 25-yard pool to the 50 meter St. Petersburg pool. Twenty-seven teams participated in the meet that had some heavy rains and some lightning delays. Our swimmers seemed right at home competing at the longer distance. Hayden Tedhams (10) set three new team records, picked up his first 11-year-old FLAG cut, and took home high point honors for 9 & 10-year-old boys. In the 400m Free, Hayden placed 3rd with a new record that dated back to 2006 completing the distance in 5:32.99 (-19.90 FLAG AA). Hayden shaved 1.80s off his team record in the 100m Back finishing in 1:22.84 (FLAG AAA). In the 200m I.M. he finished first with a FLAG time 3:04.32. Hayden took second in the 50m Breast (47.13 FLAG), 6th in the 50m Free (34.97 FLAG), and first in the 100m Free in 1;13.79 (-.91 FLAG). Saving the best for last, in the 50m Back, Hayden lowered his own team record finishing in 37.62 (-1.21), as he earned his first 11-year-old FLAG cut with a AAA time). Maddie Lehman (12) finished 3rd in high point for 11 & 12 girls. In the 100m Breast, Maddie’s time of 1:30.47 lowered a 1997 team record by .67 finishing 2nd. Maddie took first place honors in the 200m I.M. with a time of 2:44.21 (-6.52 FLAG AA). In the Senior 200m Butterfly, Maddie dropped 2.17s finishing 10th in 3:09.07 (BB). In the Senior 200m Free, Maddie dropped .57s with a time of 2:26.36 (FLAG AA). Maddie finished 6th in the 400m I.M. in 5:59.57. She stopped the clock in 1:05.48 (-1.01 FLAG AAA) placing 2nd, and in the 100m Butterfly finished 2nd with a best time of 1:18.16 (-2.06 A). Jacob Lehman (10) posted a best time in the 100m Free with 1:44.63 (-.84s) and the 100m Breast stopping the clock at 2:17.58 (-5.29s). Alexis Marburger (12) dropped 13.27 in the 200m Free (2:56.82 B). Alexis also had a best time in the 50m Free with 36.62 (-.23 B). Taylor Tedhams (7) was 4th in the meet high point scoring for 8 & under girls. In the 50m Breast, Taylor placed 6th with a time of 1:08.83. In the 50m Butterfly she finished 4th with a best time of 1:00.80 (-1.58). in the 50m Free, Taylor dropped 2.42s with a time of 48.04, and in the 50m Back, Taylor finished 5th with another best time of 56.56 (-2.49).
