The Village School Middle School Track team is excited to start the 2016-17 spring season. The team will be under commands of Coach Kenneth Apande, Matt Mouro, and Jason Fobbs. Each coach brings a collaboration of different sports experiences from the high school level to the professional level.

They will be holding practices through out the week on the brand new state of the art track. They plan to prepare for the first track meet on 2/27 & 2/28. The team will have a full roster this year with over 65 athletes.

The goal this year is to develop skills in order to become efficient, knowledgeable and self- confident individuals. We will be preparing the athletes for the next level. Hopefully with hard work and determination they will have a successful season.

The Middle School Lacrosse team has had a positive start to our season. We have a very large number of girls who came out to play, ranging from every grade level in the middle school. New head coach Eileen Sweeney brings out a positive, energetic, and patience vibe to the girls. Our goal is to improve our skills each time we step onto the turf. The girls have been working very hard to improve their stick work which has improved our passing, shooting, and scooping on the field.

Coach Wolfe and Coach Morgan are very excited about the upcoming season for Village Varsity Boys Lacrosse! We have a solid, dedicated group of young men that have demonstrated not only commitment to us coaches but to their teammates as well. Each member of the team is ready to check his ego at the door which allows us to collectively learn and grow as one unit. We have a ten game schedule ahead of us that promises to be both competitive and challenging and we look forward to improving each day on the field.

At Thursday’s Spring Sports Media Day, Mariana O signed her commitment letter to play golf at The University of St. Thomas. Mariana has been at The Village School for 3 years and has been the MVP of the golf team each year she has played. As a sophomore, Mariana qualified for the State Tournament where she had a top 20 finish. As a Junior, Mariana would also qualify for State and she shot her career low round of 82 that season. As a senior, Mariana hopes to qualify for State for the 3rd consecutive year, although this time it would be at the 6A level.

Please wish Mariana congratulations for her recent commitment to The University of St. Thomas. We wish her luck this golf season and are proud of her amazing accomplishment.
