Posted by Lise Bugeaud at Mar 24, 2018 8:47AM PDT

Canada Coast Guard will be removing unused and inactive submarine cables from the Victoria Harbour next week. The cables that will be removed run from Fisherman’s Wharf to Pelly Island and from Fisherman’s Wharf to Shoal Pt and then across to Berens Island. Work will be conducted overnight, commencing at 1900 on Monday, March 26th and ending at 0700 on Tuesday, March 27th. It is expected that the cable from Berens Island to Shoal Point will be removed first, and then the cable from Shoal Point to Fisherman’s Wharf and finally the cable from Fisherman’s Wharf to Pelly Island.

If needed to complete the work, another overnight shift will take place on March 27th – March 28th.

This work will be conducted using both a barge and divers. NOTSHIP will be disseminated by CCG. A diagram of the working location is attached.

Happy New Year

Posted by Ocean River Paddling Club at Jan 1, 2018 11:52AM PST

Happy New Year everyone,

This is a reminder to renew your CORA membership this month. As a member or user of the Ocean River Paddling Club CORA membership is a requirement. All memberships are annual memberships that are based on the calendar year. So everyone must renew in January. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Lise

Becoming a member of CORA has many benefits as outlined in the CORA Membership Benefits document at

https://www.canadianoutrigger.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/CORA-Membership-Benefits.pdf. CORA fees cover insurance, travel support costs, clinic support costs, board meetings, teleconference calls, website, IVF representation and legal/accounting fees.

CORA dues are based on the calendar year from January to December. The membership database system is cleared at the end of December; until then, online membership fees will apply to 2017. Members who wish to register or renew for the 2018 paddling year will need to do this after December 31st (when 2018 online registration is available, there will be an announcement on the CORA main webpage).

More information on online registration can be found at https://www.canadianoutrigger.com/membership/faqs/

Thank you for looking after 2018 CORA registrations!
