Renegades Conclude 2005 Season
The Brazos Valley Renegades concluded their season at the Perfect Game South BCS in Houston this past weekend.
The Renegades finished the 2005 season with a 28-7-2 overall record.
The Renegades claimed 2nd place at the AAU National Championships held
in Orlando, Florida, finishing the tournament 7-2. The Renegades and Brandon Blaze of Florida played a memorable and very emotional championship game with the Blaze winning 8-7 in 12 innings.
The Renegades claimed tournament titles at the AAU Gulf Regional Qualifier(4-0), Houston Wildcat Classic (4-0) and the Brazos Valley Renegade Summer Classic(5-1),
The Renegades finished as Quarterfinalist at the Austin Slam Invitational (3-2) and Quarterfinalist at the Perfect Game South Baseball Championship Series (3-1-1).
12 young men from the 2005 Renegades have signed letters of intent to play college baseball next season. Congratulations to them and their families and good luck.


2005 Perfect Game South Baseball Championship Series
The Brazos Valley Renegades run in the Perfect game South BCS came to an end Thursday as the Beaumont Explosion handed the Renegades a 7-4 defeat in the Quarterfinals. The explosion won their next 2 games to claim the title and now advance to the Perfect Game Baseball Championship Series finals to be held August 15-16 at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Renegades fell behind 4-0 after 3 complete innings but answered with a 4 run 4th inning highlighted by Wiley Crowsons 3 run homerun. Blake Schwarze relieved starter Matt Anderson in the 3rd inning and kept the game tied until the Explosion answered with 3 runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th inning. In the Renegades last at bat Blake Schwarze led off with a double and Lance Robinson followed with a walk to put 2 runners on and no outs, but a double play killed the rally and ended the Renegades threat. On Thursday morning the Renegades defeated the Dallas Apaches 12-0 at Butler Stadium in the opening round game. Lance Robinson picked up the win going 3 innings and giving up 2 hits and recording 4 strikeouts. Wiley Crowson pitched the final inning. At the Plate the Renegades were lead by Justin McWhorter and Lance Robinson as each had 2 hits. The Renegades defeated the Houston Heat 8-7 Wednesday morning at Butler Stadium to conclude pool play. The Renegades won their pool with a 2-0-1 record and advanced to the single elimination tournament as the #6 overall seed. The Renegades got off to a quick start as Luke Anders hit a 2 run homerun in the top of the first inning. It was Anders fourth homerun of the tournament. Tyler Faubion added an RBI double in the first inning as well. With the game tied at three, Justin McWhorter broke the tie with a 2 RBI triple in the 2nd inning. The Heat tied the game in the bottom of the inning but the Renegades retook the lead on a Wiley Crowson RBI double in the top of the third. Trailing 7-6 in the top of the sixth, Zach Riebe delivered a 2 out 2 RBI double giving the Renegades an 8-7 lead. Corey Frerichs, who relived starter Luke Anders in the third, pitched three solid innings allowing only one run to pickup the win.
On Tuesday, the Renegades opened the South Baseball Championship Series by going 1-0-1. In the opening game at Baseball USA, the Renegades let a late lead slip away and had to settle for a 7-7 tie with the Dallas Apaches. Luke Anders led the offensive attack with two solo homeruns. Justin McWhorter also added a solo homerun and JT Huckably delivered a 3run homerun. The Renegades rebounded with a 12-5 win over the Dallas Tigers at Episcopal High School. Luke Anders added another homerun, this time a 2 run shot, Wiley Crowson had a 3 run homerun and Zach Riebe turned in a 3-3 performance at the plate. Matt Anderson picked up the win and Blake Schwarze recorded the save.


Renegades finish 2nd at 2005 AAU Nationals
The Brazos Valley Renegades finished 2nd at the AAU Nationals held in Orlando, FL July 8-16 at the Walt Disney Wide World of Sports complex. The Renegades, who finished the tournament with a 7-2 record, earned a spot in the national title game by defeating the Baton Rouge Whitesox 3-2 in the quarterfinals then defeating Southwest Florida Baseball 5-4 in the semifinals. The Brandon Blaze of Florida defeated the Renegades 8-7 in 12 innings in the championship game. Congratulations to Luke Anders, Wiley Crowson and Tyler Davis as all were named to the All-Tournament team. Complete tournament scores can be found by clicking the link above.

Renegades fall in AAU national title game
The Brazos Valley Renegades baseball team went 12 innings with the Brandon Blaze in the AAU 18-19U national championship game before falling, 8-7.
The Renegades scored a run in the first inning, but the Blaze, from Brandon, Fla., scored two runs in the third inning to grab the lead.
The Blaze took what appeared to be a commanding lead in the fourth inning when they added three more runs, but the Renegades rallied, first with a run in the fifth inning, then plating five more in the sixth, regaining the lead, 7-5.
The Blaze tied the game in the seventh, starting the inning with a single and a double to set up the runs.
In 11th, the Blaze had a runner at third with no outs. The Renegades walked the next batter to set up a double play. The Renegades turned two, and the next batter flied out to end the inning.
The Blaze would not be denied, however, and scored the game winner in the bottom of the 12th inning.
James Wright started for the Renegades and pitched four innings. Ryan Mullins relieved Wright in the fourth and pitched into the sixth inning. Matt Anderson finished the game on the mound for the Renegades.
The Renegades' Cody Hancock had two hits, a single and double, and three RBIs. Josh Wisnoski also had a single and double. Blake Schwarze added three hits. Tyler Davis had two hits.
Davis, Luke Anders and Wiley Crowson were named to the all-tournament team.

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Brazos Valley Renegades baseball team won two games on Thursday at earn a berth in the championship game of the AAU 18-19U national championship tournament.
The Brazos Valley team, made up of players from several area high schools, will play for the AAU national title against a Florida team, the Brandon Blaze, on Friday at 9:30 a.m. CDT. The game will be carried on the Internet at Floridacast.com.
After winning five of their first six games, the Renegades started championship bracket play on Thursday as the second-seeded team overall
. The BV squad beat the Baton Rouge (La.) White Sox, 3-2, in the quarterfinal round on Thursday morning. The Renegades topped Southwest Florida Baseball of Fort Meyers, 5-4, in the semifinal round.
Josh Wisnoski, Cody Hancock and Cory Frerich drove in runs against Baton Rouge. Luke Anders and Nick Anders both had two hits with a double to lead the BV offense.
Tyler Davis was the winning pitcher, throwing a six-hitter and striking out six.
In the semifinal game, scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth to break a 4-4 tie. Wisnoski started the rally with a single, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a double by Luke Anders.
Wisnoski went 2 for 3 to lead the Renegades, who got RBI hits from Nick Anders, Blake Schwarze and a sacrifice fly from Davis, who drove in Justin McWhorter after a triple.
Luke Anders pitched a complete game, striking out five.
On Wednesday, the BV team finished first in its championship bracket pool by beating the Carolina Renegades, 7-3.
T.J. Olivarri and Wiley Crowson had three hits apiece to lead the BV offense, with Olivarri getting a triple.
Matt Anderson pitched four innings, allowing one run, and Ryan Mullins worked the last three innings to earn a save.


2005 Brazos Valley Renegade Invitational
The Renegades defeated the Houston Power 10-5 in Sundays championship game to claim the tournament title. After losing their opening game of the tournament 3-2 to the Power,the Renegades then won 5 straight to claim the title. After the opening round loss the Renegades defeated the Columbia Angels 7-1. James Wright picked up the win giving up only 1 run on 3 hits in 5 innings.Blake Schwarze led the Renegades at the plate with a 3-3 2 RBI performance. Ryan Mullins delivered a 2 out 2 RBI triple as the Renegades scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th to break open a close game. The Renegades then defeated the League City Hornets 8-1. Luke Anders pitched a complete game victory and helped his own casue with a 2-2 3RBI performance including a homerun. In the first round of championship play the Renegades defeated the Houston Miracles 8-7. Matt Anderson picked up the win and Corey Frerichs picked up the save slamming the door on a Miracles rally by ending the game with 2 strikeouts with the tying and winning runs on base. In the semifinals the Renegades defeated the Katy Texas 4-3.Katy scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning to tie the game at 3 but the Renegades pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the inning.Josh Wisnoski and Wiley Crowson each had a multiple hit game. Cory Frerichs pitched 6 strong inings in the no decision. In Sundays Championship game The Renegades took an early 5-0 lead highlighted by a 3 RBI double by Josh Wisnoski in the 3rd. The Power pulled within 1 at 6-5 but the Renegades broke open the game with 4 more runs in the bottom of the 6th highlighted by a 2 RBI double by Blake Schwarze

2005 BV Renegades Invitational - FINAL RESULTS

2005 Austin Slam Invitational
The Renegades went 3-2 over the weekend at the Austin Slam Invitational. The Renegades opened the tournament with a 9-2 victory over the Austin Wings. James Wright picked up the win going 6 innings and and allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 4. Nick Anders, Luke Anders and Ryan Mullins each had 2 hits apiece while Tyler Fossett added a 2 run homerun. The Renegades then defeated the Columbia Angels 9-1 behind the strong pitching of Tyler Davis. Davis picked up the win going the distance allowing only 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 10 and giving up no walks. Offensively, Nick Anders turned in a 3-3 performance at the plate and was just a single away from hitting for the cycle. The Fort Worth Cats defeated the Renegades 5-4 in their final pool game. The Renegades defeated Georgetown 10-2 in the playoff opening round. Luke Anders recorded the win going the distance and allowing only 2 ER while giving up 3 hits and striking out 7. Josh Wisnoski and Wiley Crowson each added a homerun. The South Texas Sliders defeated the Renegades 7-5 in the quarterfinal round

Renegades finish "Baseball at the Box Tourney" 2-1-1
The Renegades finished 2-1-1  this past weekend at the Louisiana All Star "Baseball at the Box" tournament held in Baton Rouge. The Renegades opened the tournament with a 4-4 tie against the League City Hornets at LSU's Alex Box Stadium . Tyler Davis pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing 4 ER on 4 hits while striking out 7. Davis helped his own cause at the plate adding 2 hits. Blake Schwarze and Justin Mcwhorter each added solo homeruns.
 Errors and missed opportunities hurt the Renegades in their next game as the Baton Rouge Whitesox claimed an 8-1 victory. The Renegades rebounded with a 1-0 victory over the Louisiana All Stars under the lights at Alex Box Stadium. Luke Anders picked up the win allowing only 2 hits while striking out 11. The Renegades finished the tournament with a 3-1 victory over Performance Baseball of Mississippi. Matt Anderson picked up the win going 4 innings while giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and striking out 7. Corey Frerichs picked up the save. Offensively the Renegades were led by Shea Ross (3-3) and Ryan Mullins (2-2)


Renegades finish Houston Wildcat Classic 4-0, Claim 2nd straight Tournament Title
The Renegades defeated the Houston Heat 17-2 in the championship game of the Houston Wildcat Classic Saturday morning in Conroe. The Renegades finished the tourney a perfect 4-0 and ran their season record to 8-0.In the championship game the Renegades tallied 7 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Shea Ross had a grand slam homerun and later Justin Mcwhorter added a 2 run homerun. The Heat pushed across 2 runs and the game remained 7-2 until the Renegades exploded for 10 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Tyler Davis picked up the win. The Renegades opened up the tournament with a 19-2 win over the Texas Colts. The Renegades then defeated the Houston Miracles 12-2. James Wright picked up the win going the distance allowing 2 ER on 4 hits while striking out 11 and walking 0. Nick Anders, Luke Anders and Tyler Faubion each had multiple hit games and Nick Anders and Luke Anders each added homeruns. The Renegades then defeated the Houston Wildcats 5-4. Luke Anders recorded the win going 4.1 innings giving up 1 ER while striking out 5. Matt Anderson picked up the Save. Congratulations to Shea Ross and Tyler Davis, both were selected to the all tourney team.

Renegades win Opener 19-2
The Renegades opened the 2005 Houston Wildcat Summer Classic by defeating the Texas Colts 19-2 Thursday night in Magnolia. The Renegades tallied 14 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Nick Anders, TJ Olivarri, Luke Anders and Shea Ross all had multiple hits. Tyler Davis picked up the win. The Renegades will return to action on Saturday facing the Houston Miracles at 12pm and the Houston Wildcats at 7:30pm, both games at Magnolia High School.

Renegades repeat as AAU Gulf Regional Champions
The Renegades opened their season this past weekend in dominating fashion, sweeping 4 games at the AAU Gulf Regional Qualifier in Brenham. The Renegades outscored their opponents 56-10 in the 4 games. The Renegades opened the tournament with a 17-4 win over the Kingwood Warriors. The renegades scored 11 runs in the top of the 6th inning to blow the game open. Tyler Davis pitched 4 innings allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 7. Corey Frerichs pitched the final 2 innings allowing 1 run while striking out 3. At the plate Josh Wisnoski, Davis and TJ Olivarri all had 2 hits a piece. The Renegades then defeated the Spring Rebels 9-5. James Wright picked up the win throwing 4 innings allowing 1 earned run and striking out 8. Offensively Nick Anders, Olivarri,Wisnoski and Justin Courtney all had 2 hits a piece. Olivarri and Wisnoski added homeruns. The Renegades then defeated the Houston Miracles 11-1. Luke Anders pitched 4 scoreless innings allowing only 2 hits while striking out 8. Tyler Davis,Josh Wisnoski,Luke Anders and Corey Frerichs all had a 2 hit games. In the championship game the Renegades wasted no time against Kingwood scoring 9 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and coasting to a 19-0 victory. Justin Courtney picked up the win pitching 2 innings giving up 3 hits and striking out 4. Tyler Fossett and Ryan Mullins pitched 1 scoreless inning each to end the game.Tyler Davis, Nick Anders and Wiley Crowson each had 2 hits while Josh Wisnoski had a a 3 hit performance. The Renegades won the AAU Gulf Regional Qualifier for the second consecutive season

A&M Consolidated senior Tyler Davis signed recently to play baseball for McNeese State. Sharing in the moment with Davis alongside Consol baseball coach Chase Mann were (middle from left) A&M Consolidated AD Jim Slaughter, sisters Taylor Davis and Morgan Davis; (back) BV Renegades Coach Duane Faltysek and youth coach Ray Riley, and parents Monica and Chris Davis. Davis was 2-2 last year with a 2.54 ERA and batted .291 with 13 RBIs for A&M Consolidated. Davis was 3-2 with 2 saves and a 2.50 ERA for the Bazos Valley Renegades during the summer of '04. In 2005 Davis helped lead the Renegades to the AAU National title game by batting .393 with 14 RBI, on the mound Davis was 6-1 with a 1.65 ERA and a team leading 53 strikeouts. image

 2004 AAU Nationals
The Brazos Valley Renegades finished the 2004 AAU nationals in Orlando, FL with a 6-3 record and a 5th place national finish. The Renegades opened the tournament with a loss but rebounded with 2 victories over the Cincinnati Stars 7-5, and Chicago Baseball 13-1 to advance to the championship pool play. In championship pool play the Renegades defeated the Middletown,NY Cobras 11-1 and the Florida Hawks 5-4 to earn a spot in the Final 8 Bracket before falling to the Florida Express 9-8. The Baton Rouge Whitesox defeated the Renegades 3-2 in 9 innings in the quarterfinal round eleminating the Renegades from title contention. The Renegades then rebounded and defeated the Cincinnati Gators 4-3 and the Cincinnati Sharks 3-2 to earn 5th place. Luke Anders,Nick Anders and Tyler Davis were named to the all-tournament team.
