News and Announcements

Thank you for visiting our website. Our mission is to develop young athletes with positive outlooks and attitudes in Des Moines and the surrounding areas.

OUR OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

*To create a nationally competitive track club
*To develop discipline, responsibility, and social skills in young people
*To provide academic tutoring and scholarship opportunities
*Expand our membership and increase parent involvement
*Increase community awareness, support, and participation in track and field

We would like to personally thank all of the coaches, board members, athletes, and volunteers for helping in the development of our wonderful track club. Our shared enthusiasm for track and field and for the youth of our community is what drives our success. We will continue to strive for greatness on and off of the track and settle for nothing less. A wise man once said “best is always better, but never stop striving until your best is better than best”. This quote embodies the spirit and philosophy of our team. We will work hard each day and push each other to be our very best.

We would like to take this opportunity and thank all of our parents for trusting us with your children and letting us play a role in molding their lives. I hope all of you continue to support your children and help us to make a difference in their lives.

Yours Truly,

Coach Cortez Nichols, President
Denise Nichols, Vice President

USATF & AAU Age Divisions Athletes compete against each other based on their age. The age levels are based on the year the athlete was born. The Sub-Bantam (8 & Under) age division events are limited to the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. USATF has this age division at the state meet, but these athletes do not advance to regional or national meets. Sub-bantam’s (8 & Under) may compete as Bantams.
