2005 PRE-SEASON JAMBOREE

Posted by Coach Gonzo at Apr 26, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Trumbull defeated Masuk, Greenwich and Watertown in their pre-season Jamboree scoring twelve goals led by Dan Miressi who notched six. With the Eagles leading Greenwich 1-0 in the championship, the Cardinals pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and tied the game with less than a minute remaining. In the game deciding shoot-out, Charlie Ogalin turned back the first two shooters while Trumbull's second shooter, Chris Hinesley scored on a nifty move.  It took four shooters but Trumbull eventually lost 3-2.  Trumbull will face Greenwich twice this season and will see Masuk and Watertown for one game apiece. imageimage

2004-2005 SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE

Posted by Coach Gonzo at Mar 12, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
It was a great run for the 2004-2005 Trumbull Eagles. This was a team that had many opportunities to quit or make excuses but never did. Their hard work and dedication brought them all the way to the second overtime of the DII State Finals.
I would like to thank the coaches for their time and energy. I would especially like to thank the parents and the Power Play Club for their support, enthusiasm and effort in providing the team with the funding they deserve to compete. Most of all I would like to thank the players- I am very proud to be able to say I was your coach.  Yours was an inspiring accomplishment!

#9 TRUMBULL 4  vs #2 FARMINGTON 5

RECORD BREAKING SENIOR NIGHT

Posted by Coach Gonzo at Feb 17, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The Trumbull Eagles wrapped up the regular season Wednesday night with a 6-3 win over Stamford. This was Trumbull's ninth consecutive victory, breaking the eight game unbeaten streak set back in 2002-2003. The Eagles' run saw the home team outscore their opponents 57-11. Trumbull finished the season 12-8-0 and look forward to FCIAC and CIAC tournament play. It was fitting the record be snapped on a night when the Trumbull hockey program honored its senior class. Co-Captain, Patrick Devore, Alternate Captain, Bryan Schrimmer, Jeff Ogalin, Dan Kline and Andrew Christman have all contributed to this season's success and to the team's many accomplishments of the past few years. Another team record was also set in the game as junior, co-captain, Ryan Criscuolo scored two goals to become the Eagles' all time leading defensive scorer with 58 career points. The past career point mark of 57 was set by defenseman, Carl Slavis (class of 1995).imageimage
