Trumbull Eagles Hockey

Sr, Luca Minopoli and Jr, Austin Ashby each scored two goals in Trumbull’s 6-3 win over Staples. Sr, Stephanos Galatas got his first win of the season between the pipes making with 26 saves.

At 7-2-1,. the Eagles are starting to show up on everyone’s radar. They currently sit atop the CIAC D2 standings and were recently voted “Team of the Week” on the Ruden Report.

Trumbull has consistently shown up on the HNIB “Top Eight” and have inched up each week to their current ranking of 4th.

The Eagles will find out who they really are with some tough games on the horizon. Trumbull will host a very tough Fairfield team this Saturday and Greenwich on Saturday 01/22/22.

Trumbull improved to 5-1-1 with a dominate 8-1 win over Nor/Mac. Scoring came from all directions- Austin Ashby (2g/1a), Giancarlo Montanaro (1g/3a), Luca Minopoli (1g/2a), Peter Antoniou (1g/1a), Matt Farasciano (2g), Zach Jager (g).

It was another light week for the Eagles with only one game on the schedule. Trumbull traveled to Norwalk to take on the Bears. After a first period tied at one apiece, the Eagle offense caught fire led by junior, Austin Ashby. Ashby scored two power play goals and added an assist on Zach Jager’s game winner. The center adds speed and skill to the second line and has been chipping in with the secondary scoring needed for Trumbull to continue its successful run.
