NHBCO IMPORTANT DATES

Posted by David Chase at Oct 28, 2013 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

NHBCO 2014-2015 Season

                                                                                                Important Dates and other items

                                                                          NEW ASSOCIATION WEBSITE:         www.nhbcohoops.com

December 1st- $35.00 dues should be paid for by this date. A $5.00 late fee will be charged after Dec. 1.   Dues are the major fundraiser for our organization. The NHBCO promotes the players and coaches by Awards (All-State, Academic, Mr. Basketball, Ms Basketball and Jack Ford). Senior All-Star Games- (Div. 1 vs Div. 2 and Div. 3 vs Div. 4 and Twin State Game vs Vermont in the summer)

January 9th - The NHIAA official’s recommendation list is due. You as a coach get to vote for officials who work the tournament. This is an NHIAA initiative but is very important for Basketball coaches to be a part of. This list is sent to the NHIAA. Your Class Rep will be sending you a sheet sometime in December through email that has directions and a list of officials.

January 30th – Nominations due for all state- Each school can nominate up to four players. Nominees do not have to be seniors; Very important--- Spell names correctly, list position, size and uniform number. Send to your class representative. Send nominees in order of ability. (List your top player first) Example:

Note:  You do not have to nominate 4 players, if you only feel you have 2 that are worthy, nominate only 2.   If you are 0-7 by Jan. 30th you probably don’t have 4 all state players.

March 6th- All State Ballots and your teams All-Academic qualifiers will be due to your class representative by this date. You need to be a NHBCO dues paying member in order to vote. If you are not a dues paying member your players on your team will have 5pts deducted from their total. The ballots will be sent out by your class representative shortly after nominations have been received. These ballots are used for All-State Teams and Awards and also used for divisional All-Star Games. Helpful Hint---Turn your All-Academic List into your school’s guidance department at the end of quarter 2 which is usually mid-January. This will give them plenty of time to have it ready for you to mail or fax to your representative by March 6th.  This date is very important because names need to be sent to the printer.

March 8th-  Two committee's will meet to choice Mr. & Ms. New Hampshire and the Jack Ford winners for each gender and class.  This meeting will take play in Epping at the Holy Grail, 5pm

March 15th- NHBCO Spring Membership Meeting 10am-12 – This is a change from the past, we hope having this meeting a week earlier will allow coaches to get All-State Awards and info a week prior to the All-Star Games. Announcement of the All-Star Games at NHTI will be done at this time as will specialty awards such as:  Mr and Ms Basketball and divisional Jack Ford Awards.

* if you have a candidate for Mr. or Ms. NH Basketball or Jack Ford Scholar Athlete you will need to turn in Paperwork at this time. Mr. and Ms. NH Basketball is 50% Basketball, 25% Academics and 25% Sportsmanship. Jack Ford Scholar Athlete is 33% Basketball, 33%, Academic and 33% Citizenship/Community Service. The players’ coach is the only person who nominates a player for these prestigious awards. Forms and directions for nominating a candidate are on the website listed above I will also send copies by email to the Class Reps.

March 22nd.- NHBCO All-Star Games at NHTI in Concord. Division 3 vs Division 4 Girls 11:30am, Division 3 vs Division 4 Boys 1:30pm, Division 1 vs Division 2 Girls 3:30pm, Division 1 vs Division 2 Boys 5:30pm. This game is also considered a tryout for Twin State Game vs Vermont that will be held in New Hampshire this Summer.
