Dear Former Players, Parents, Sponsors and Friends:

It is time to celebrate our 11th season as an organization.  Over the past 10 years we have made great strides in providing a quality experience for our players and coaches. We have enjoyed many great memories and have been successful both on and off the field of play.

The Fairhaven Post 166 Legion Baseball Program was initially started to provide this great experience to the athletes from the following high schools: Fairhaven, Old Rochester Regional, Old Colony Vocational, and GNB Vocational.  However, over the years we have also been able to provide this same experience to players from Wareham, Apponequet, Bishop Stang, Tabor Academy, and New Bedford High as well.

With this being said, over 40 former players have gone on to play collegiate baseball at numerous colleges and universities. We have also had a few players be selected to play in the elite “Cape Cod Collegiate Summer League”.  Finally, one of our former players was a key member of the 2006 & 2007 NCAA Division II National Championship teams at the University of Tampa.  He is now playing for the “Midwest Sliders” in the Independent Frontier League of Professional Baseball, congratulations to Troy Ferguson.

As you are aware, it requires tremendous fundraising efforts to provide the best available equipment and supplies to create and maintain a great baseball experience for the players and coaches.  Since the start of the 2000 season, the American Legion Post in Fairhaven has been unable to financially support a baseball team.  The Post has agreed to sponsor us in name only, since an affiliation with a Post is a requirement for participation in the State and National baseball programs.  Due to these circumstances, we have been 100% supported by our fundraising efforts.

We hope you will join us in our fundraising efforts this year by participating in the “Grand-Slam Fundraiser” event.  This year we have set a goal of $5,000.00.  All donations will be greatly appreciated.  The levels for participation are listed below:

SINGLE = $25

DOUBLE = $50

TRIPLE = $75

HOME RUN =$100

GRAND SLAM = $400

  All donations should be mailed to :           Fairhaven Post 166 Legion Baseball

                                                     21 Temple Place

                                                     Fairhaven, Ma  02719

  Please make all checks payable to “Fairhaven Legion Baseball”.

Each donation will be placed on our team website according to the level of participation.  Should you be sending a donation as a business, please provide a business card so that we can place the correct information on the site.

Thank you in advance for helping us reach our goal.  On behalf of the entire program I wish everyone well and we look forward to seeing each of you this summer.

Respectfully,

Frank M. Sniezek, Director                  &                     Steve Doonan, Head Coach
